BrotherGrendel (546), San Diego (La Jolla), California, USA Apr 30, 2009 Tap@Obriens. Dark amber hue, thin white head, sticky lacing. Nose is thick rye and bread malts, big pine and grass hops, toffee. Flavor is a balance of bitter rye and hops, big and bold, west coast rye for sure. Medium-full, thick texture, mod carbonation. A great take on a difficult style, über bitter! WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Apr 19, 2009 Tap @ Ritual tonight. Pours deep orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is sweet with rye and hops. Taste is sweet, rye, hoppy, tasty, a bit too bitter. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Mar 24, 2009 On tap @ Toronado San Diego. Pours a clear medium amber color with a 2 finger off white head that left great lacing. Nose of floral hops, rye malt and some spice. Flavor also has a hint of spice with a nice rye malt back bone, a great session brew.
