Oakes (6779), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 11, 2008 Golden, slightly hazy. Really spicy hop nose - beauty. Light wood and a rounded hop character, with more spices and a pomegranate hop note. I revisited this a couple of times over the CBC cause it was damn fine.
jcwattsrugger (3733), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jul 5, 2008 12oz bottle @Joe’s NYC Gathering-thanks eyedrinkable–pours a white ring with gold color. Aroma is resin/pine. who cares but there is secondary medium malt-caramel. Taste is resin/pine, equal medium malt-caramel. Mild/minimal carbonation. JoeMcPhee (3615), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jun 28, 2008 Big thanks to Eyedrinkale for bringing a few of these out. Orange golden beer with little head. Aroma is very hoppy. Loaded with pine and orange citrus. Bright and fresh and very tasty. Lean-bodied and dry with a nice chewy resiny spicy hoppiness. Sweet, rich and grapefruity. Delicious. tomthompson89 (1037), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 27, 2008 Bottle brought back from Craft brewers conference, by Jason from Cameron’s, nice amber copper color good foamy head nose is hops but also a sweet perfume, flavor is pine hops lotsa caremel malts well carbonated with a creamy mouthfeel. puzzl (1627), New York, New York, USA Jun 26, 2008 Bottle shared by EDA at Joe’s. Lots of Christmasy hops in the aroma, light caramel malt. Powerful, out of balance bitter winter hops in the flavor. Very bitter and intense overall. This is one of those IPAs that to me sits precariously between IPA and IIPA... a bad place to be if you ask me. The hops are too much for a normal IPA, but would be fine for a IIPA but would need more malt to back them up. Rciesla (708), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jun 26, 2008 Jeez thanks again EDA for another nice find! Mike really must have the best cellar of anyone i know. Pours a skunky hempy earhty aromatic character. A hazy amber body with a rocky head. Lots of skunk and hempy greens. Awesome IPA. How much different from the W.Coast IPA i dunno. Thanks Mike.
