enjoyable pale ale. Citrus hop aroma. Somewhat earthy malts with some sweetness. Quite hoppy, thought it was an IPA until someone told me it was a pale.

Poured a very clear yellow with a small white head. Nose was strong with grapefruit. Taste was very clean, fairly dry, lots of hop flavor, good amount of bitterness, and dances a fine line between a Pale Ale and an IPA.

From tap at the brewery. Poursclear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is wine grape. Light bitter and fruity hoppy flavoured. Mild sweet flavoured. Lasting crisp bitter finish with the nelson sauvign notes downplayed yet with a very smooth overall impression. Nice one.

On tap. Pours a clear pale amber with an off-white head. Fresh peachy aroma hops in the nose. Medium body, caramel and fruit before a rather hoppy finish. 070709

On tap at Stone bistro. Fairly strong for a pale ale, but tasty. Biscuits, bitter hops, citrus, grapefruit, and caramel. Pretty dry, and close to an IPA. I enjoyed it.

50cl draf at Blind Lady on 34th street, a few blocks off target. the beer pour a slight hazy golden with a medium white head. nice hoppy aroma with light sweet malt aroma, the flavor followed the aroma with some light slightly fruity malt was some big hopp flavor, the finish was quite bitter and a little harsh. I think the rater below me had it right when he called this "challenging." I feel like a pale can have nice hopiness without becoming hard to drink, which this one is to an extent. The Drakes 1500 went a similar route as this, but i think came out with a much more drinakable beer.

Was I having an off-night when I drank this? I was expecting more of an easy drinking PA and this was just too hopped up for me. I love hop-bombs usually, but this just seemed to challenge me in a way that I don’t prefer my Pale Ale’s to do. Could have used a more friendly character. Or...perhaps it was just an off-night for me.
