| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 27, 2009 What a freaking barleywine! Had this one aged 2 1/2 yrs and it is a pleasure. Lots of apples, tart crisp apples everywhere, and there are also some rotten ones underneath the traditional aged barleywine profiles. Aroma is all tart crisp fresh apples with some super uber tart brett. Mmmm. The roasted malt is what sets this one apart. The malt is medium in sweetness but the toffee is sugary and fully bodied and flavored. Wonderful beer.
