Commercial Description:
Our American-style Barleywine undergoes a three hour boil to intesify the caramel malts and the enormous Pacific Northwest hop charge. The result is a rich, estery brew with toffee notes and citrus hop flavors layered throughout. Enjoy this brew fresh today or lay it down for aging to see how the flavors of each vintage evolve.

Fairly fresh 2008 bomber. The body is mostly clear, rusty red-brown in color. A thin, swirly, off-white head leaves minimal, spotty lacing behind. Aromas show like a classic SoCal barleywine, ultra hoppy orange, grapefruit, and green grass bitterness countering the underlying caramel and toffee malts. Flavors follow suit, again very hoppy and citrus based, to the point of essentially being a triple IPA of sorts. Grapefruit and orange rind overpower notes of dark fruits and toasted caramel. Medium-full and sligtly syrupy on the palate, with above average carbonation. Finishes peppery. This is a solid American style barleywine.

Bottle marked "2nd Anniversary". Poured golden red with brown and a thin tan head. The nose was a bit oxidized and subtle hop, with caramel and some toffee. Same as the nose, the flavor was those influences with much less oxidation.

Pours a dark copper. Nose is full of pine resin and hops, with a few caramel malt notes. Taste is of heavy caramel malts, with a lot of nice hop bitterness. Very dry and considering alcohol is 10%, it is hidden well. Pretty solid offering.

The look is copper to amber in color, sort of hazy, and has a nice beige colored head. Smell is hops, pine, citrus, toffee, and alcohol. Taste is malts, hops, citrus, agressive hop bitternss, and molasses.

Thick dark amber with a lasting thick creamy head. Aroma is alcohol and a long growing rich hop scent. Thicdk body and flavour. Huge hop presence. Long alcohol finish. Big dry hopped and aggresive. Tilted towards DIPA.

Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy amber color with a medium light tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a sweet fruit malt with caramel. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste is rich citrus hop with a bitter finish that does not hide the alcohol well. Still a good barleywine from Green Flash.

Dark garnet orange color very nice head. Raw grainy aroma, Flavor is Chewy sweet and toasty excellent balance between hops and malt. Alcohol really hits you. Finish is sticky and bitter. Overall I like it but there is something of a slight chemical essence here. Maybe its the alcohol or the yeast.
