Commercial Description:
Our American-style Barleywine undergoes a three hour boil to intesify the caramel malts and the enormous Pacific Northwest hop charge. The result is a rich, estery brew with toffee notes and citrus hop flavors layered throughout. Enjoy this brew fresh today or lay it down for aging to see how the flavors of each vintage evolve.

Labeled as "2nd Anniversary." Bottle at PPRBSG09. Pours a cloudy brown with a small white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt. Flavor is super sweet, with some roasted malt and vegetal notes. Very heavy on the palate. It seems that this one has not held up over time. Ugh, not a fan. 6/4/6/3/12 (3.1/5)

2008 Vintage Bomber. Pours a deep ruby brown hazy color with a small off white head. Nose is luscious and enticing, dark fruits, caramel, pine, resin hop character. Initial taste is sweet, chewy and lots of caramel. Touch of alcohol heat topped with dark fruits, raisins and plum becoming more apparent. Mid palate to finish displays the gritty resin hop that balances the beer. Light to medium body. Above average palate duration. Excellent head retention and spot lacing. Very enjoyable.

Bottle shared by plovmand. Pours a mahogany colour with a tan head. Aroma is hops, peach, pine, caramel, roasted sweet malt and raisin. Flavour is hops, malt, caramel and dark fruits, ending in a long bitter, malt-caramel after taste.
Re-rate. from 8-4-8-3-16=3,9 to: Same nice aroma and flavour but I think the flavour is pungent hoppy and unbalanced.

Bottle. Dark amber body with a medium off white head. Very fruity aroma with lots of barley and hoppy notes. Lovely west coast style barly taste with lots of hops and dark fruit. The alcohol is there but just adds to the warming taste. Creamy bodied.

Bottled. 2008. Thanks Anders Holmskär. I thought I had this beer in my cellar already, but no. I was encouraged to save this bottle for another 2 years, but due to lack of space I cracked it now. Too bad. A good Barley Wine but still raw. Dark ruby brown colour with medium-sized foam. Heavy malty aroma with loads of hops still. Not as fruity as I hoped. Mouthfeel and flavour is a bit raw and harsh still, with a great deal of dark malts, that would need time to settle. The jelly-ish, mellow fruity character often found in great Barley Wines are not here yet. Toffee is present, darker malts are present, and the rich hopping are clearly present still. Bitterness is on medium-high levels. Fairly sweet. Had I been wiser, I’d follow the advice and save it for longer. Cheers to storing some beers. At home, or preferably at the brewery.

On tap at the brewery in Vista. Pours a cleaner looking amber brown with a thin, khaki colored head that dissipates quickly and leaves some delicate lacing. Aroma is quite big. Lots of piney hops, candi sugars, dark fruits, and sweet caramels. The taste is quite nice as well. Sweet, but doesn’t have that thick, syrupy sweet taste that some barley wines have. Lots of floral and piney hops, toffees, candi sugar, prunes, raisins, a bit of molasses, and citrusy fruits. Very nice balance throughout before a sweet, but piney bitter, dry finish with a long, intense aftertaste. Palate is medium bodied, but very smooth and soft. Coats the mouth well. Overall, a quality barley wine. Well crafted and obviously taken care of. Good stuff.

Not sure of the year as it was still bottled as 2nd Anniversary, Thanks Toby! - Pours dk amber with a small off white head...aroma is dark, dried fruit, malt, and some hop florals...flavour is nicely balanced, sweet and sticky but tempered with nice bitterness and everpresent alcohol...
