Extra pale golden color, as expected--didnt pour into a glass. Spicy and slightly hoppy flavor with little malt. A tad fruity and bitter palate. Meh. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2006 Medium golden pour, nice, soft pillowy white head with exquisite lacing. Faint sprucey and spicy aroma - but barely there. Flavor is hop acented with some grapefruity notes and not much of a malty backbone to balance it out. Pretty one-dimensional leaning toward the bitter side of the scale. Mouthfeel is slighlty stinging. Thanks to Aurelius - remnant from his Ale-in-the-mail shipment. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Fresh western hop, lemony fruit, caramel aroma. Lemon biscuity, west coast hops, light sunflower seed nuttiness and sweetness. Pretty well bittered. A journeyman brew, but a pretty clean-drinking American Golden Ale. Long bitter finish, medium to medium-heavy body. Big poofy head, lousy clipart label, clear yellow-gold beer, distinctive cap. Ale-in-the-Mail selection. Naven (873), Poway, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2006 12 oz bottle: Nice aroma. Pour is light amber color. Taste is smooth, refreshing and slightly hoppy. This is a good, everday drinking beer. A little underrated in my opinion. vyvvy (2044), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2006 Pours light amber with a large fluffy white head. The aroma is very light - some grassy notes along with some mustiness. Medium body with a grainy harsh carbonation. Starts with lots of grassiness and some pale malt. The finish doesn’t add much else, more grassiness, but that is all. A good beer, but a bit to simplistic tasting. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA
