Commercial Description:
This English-style Summer Ale has a bright golden color as the name indicates. Cascade hops impart a floral aroma that is accented by citrus notes lent from Chinook hops. The hop flavors mingle with with premium pale malted barley to create a flavorful ale that is crisp and refreshing.

This beer has quite an assortment of citrus aromas: pineapple, orange, and lemon peel, but mostly pineapple. It pours a hazy gold with an enormously thick creamy head. The bottle I opened had settled for a few days but foamed over profusely. It starts with orange peel then barley rich grains. It ends with a brief but noticeable tin flavor, which quickly gives way to fading hops.

Clear auburn pour under a relatively tall off white head with thin lacing. Mildly fruity aroma with some apricot and citrus. Well balanced and moderately hoppy flavor which starts as a mild IPA and finishes as a dry APA. A solid and refreshing brew but nothing spectacular .

Tasted at Green Flash. Light yellow amber with yeasty and malty aroma. Bready taste and dry finish.

Big cascade citrus and copper penny nose. Nice clean pale malt bill, with a soft and semi metallic bittering. Clean and citrus forward finish.

Clean crisp refreshing. A superb pale ale. Tried at Green Flash’s tasting room with my friend Joel from work. Joel bought a case (24) for $20. A pretty good deal for a great beer. I prefer stronger styles, so a rating of 3.6 is very high for this style for me.

Poured a clear light gold with a small white head. The aroma is malty and grainy with mild earthy hops. The flavor is malty with a citrus middle. The finish is thin with a mild-to moderate bitterness that lasts a long time. Light bodied.

12 ounce bottle purchased at the Davis, CA Food Co-Op. Aroma is rather boring. Lots of grainy, cereal-like notes present. Mildly earthy, lightly grapefruit citrus hop aromas are also present, too. Mildly hazy honey-colored body present with a large, frothy, white head that leaves some attractive lacing. Some floral hoppy flavors hit you immediately to start, followed by just a bit of grainy palel maltiness. Finishes with very dry, bitter, earthy hops. Not overly complex or interesting. Quite unbalanced and the hops are a little too over the top. It’s serviceable, but nothing amazing.

Big cascade citrus and copper penny nose. Nice clean pale malt bill, with a soft and semi metallic bittering. Clean and citrus forward finish.
