Commercial Description:
Our Belgian Style Dark Ale is inspired by traditional Abbey Ales to deliver the richest of malt flavors but with a slightly elevated hopping and increased complexity given from two different yeast strains. This malt laden ale is designed to satiate and keep your taste buds dancing.

This is a surprisingly good beer. I had to lower some of the numbers to not seem out of line. The last beer I had last night was a Rochefort 10 and figured this would be an unfair comparison. The nose doesn’t have the same lasting jolt but is pleasant, fruity and complex. The taste is smooth, malty and fruity. Very drinkable. Love it.

2/11/2009: Green Flash Grand Cru is brown with a beige head. It has a mild maltiness and spiciness with hints of cinammon in the aroma. The flavor is yeasty and Belgian-like. It contains lots of fruit flavors as well as a hint of bubblegum. This beer is medium-bodied with an average palate. Decent overall.

1 pint 6 fl. oz. bottle (Alc. by Vol. 9.1%) shared by Tmoney99. Thanks again Tom! Rating #96 for this beer.

Pours dark brown with 1-finger off-tan head. Nose is rock syrupy malt, figgy fruit, perfumy florals, blackberry, slight funk, peaty earthy. Tastes of candi sugary caramelly malt, with peaty earthy notes, molasses, dark fruit, maple syrup, hops, and brown sugar, Very smooth, with a complexity that rivals most Fantome offerings, and a real cohesiveness for a brew that throws this many aroma and flavor variables at one. At 7-9 bucks a bottle, I’d gladly buy this by the case if I could. Do yourself a favor and procure yourself one of these (or 6) today. Yeah Man!

bottle @ gen. lafayette inn w/ chuck silva - pours a ruddy brown, a tan head that vanishes quickly. Aroma was ripe with malt sweetness, along with dried fruit (fig?) notes. Flavor is good and malty, not overly sweet or cloying. Some spices and herbs, more of the dried fruit flavors, some molasses flavors. Finishes crisp. Very drinkable and very good.

Thanks jdubfl for the share. Pours dark brown with a white head. Nose is candy sugar, malt, anise, some ripe dark fruit, and lots of depth. Flavor is candy sugar, ripe dark fruit, and some balancing hops. Nice, sweet and flavorful, right to the end.

Bottle. Dark brown with foamy brown head. Rich raisin, licorice, cherry and malty aroma. Rich malts with a nice bite at the finish. I like it, its a nice combination of rich malts, Belgian candy sugar and fruits, and hops.

on tap at papago... poured a nearly black shade of brown with a soft tan head and moderate drippy lacing. the aroma is quite fruity... raisins, dried stone fruits, loads of smooth malt and a strange smell... or feel rather, of menthol or eucalyptus. it is definitely something which numbs the sinus... odd but not unpleasant. that same character carries over as a profile in the flavor... it burns a bit and cleans off the palate. the flavor is full of malt and molasses but remains not overly sweet (at least for the style)... notes of herbs, flowers, grass and very mild pine on the finish along with some alcohol burn. the body is seemingly light and highly drinkable in quantity with prickly carbonation and mouth feel yet smooth...7/5/7/4/15/3.8

Bottle courtesy of fopdog. Thanks Kevin. Pours deep amber with thin tan head. The aroma seems mild with smooth malts hitting first before full notes of figs, prunes, raisins and a bit of pepper take over. The taste begins fruity with prunes, figs, plums and solid raisin notes. It gets a bit peppery to midway and grows some into the finish. Nice stuff.
