Commercial Description:
Our Belgian Style Dark Ale is inspired by traditional Abbey Ales to deliver the richest of malt flavors but with a slightly elevated hopping and increased complexity given from two different yeast strains. This malt laden ale is designed to satiate and keep your taste buds dancing.

Attractive pour of deep brown with a thin tan head. Sweet malty nose with dark plum like fruit and raisins. The flavor is a bit sharper and spicy.

Dark brown, almost black, with a little head. Aroma is heavy with sugary plum and yeast...and a bit rubbery. Flavor is highly agreeable, it is mellowed and delicate. The flavor blends some nice grainy tastes in with the dark fruity sweetness. There is only a slight bitterness at the end, but only a small amount that. This beer doesn’t have much that stands out, but hey, it is what it is.

Pours dark brown with a squatty off-white head. No lacing to speak of. Deep, dark fruit aroma; prunes, plums, raisins, and concord grapes. Caramel candy, yeast, and musty malt as well. Sticky, yet carbonated mouthfeel. Compliments the sweetness of the beer, but gets to be a bit much towards the latter half of the bottle. Lots of sticky malt and dark fruits throughout the taste. Slight phenols pop up as it warms. Molasses, plums, and confectioner’s sugar accompany the malt towards the back. A true Belgian, but leans into the dubbel category.

Pours a nice dark brown with a nice off whit e head. Aroma is belgian yeasts, malt, spices and banana. Flavor is esthers, dark roasted malt, rasins, clove, spices, belgian yeasts, candi sugar. A fair amount of bitterness in the finish as well. This one was pretty enjoyable and hid it’s 9% alcohol rather well.

22 oz bottle. Was like pouring a glass of cola, only a darker hue. Dark with a light fluffy off-white head. Fat finger’s worth settles down to a blanket of goo. Smell is light and sweet. Again, almost soda like. Malty and fruity. Almost sourish. Doesn’t smell thick though. Huge explosion of carbonation in the mouth. Champagne fluffy. Fun! Taste moves a lot. Ginger and ... something. Sharp fruit fades and mellows, hits a bitter spot, and then sits at the back of my throat. Bit of aspirin. I like this.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of dark ripe fruits, yeast, light banana, cloves, light apples, and some plasticy chemicals. Poured brown to dark brown in color with a large, dense, rocky, tan head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Lightly sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of cloves, yeast, tobacco, resin, tar, light caramel, light chocolate, light plums, and some dark ripe fruits. Medium body. Smooth, creamy texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, yeasty, malty finish.

Bomber from Monument. Pours brown with white scattered head. Aroma is banana and vanilla. Flavor is clove, and said aromas. Finishes on a very sweet note - yet this sweetness morphs into dare I say it, a celery note?
