Pours dark amber, medium to full bodied, not too sweet, presence of hops which give it a dry ending. JoeTheYounger (285), California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 18, 2009 Opaque reddish brown with a fizzy tan head. Aroma is full of dark fruits with an interesting jarred olive component. Flavor is quite sweet with a slightly jarring bitter hoppy followup. Not thick and syrupy (thankfully). Alcohol is prominent. A bit strange but still a decent Belgian inspired though clearly American beer. drjay44 (803), Salida, Colorado, USA

This is good beer. fonefan (11811), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Good sized light brown head of fine bubbles. Reduces slowly and lasts a long time. Rich, malty and spicy aroma with some plums, ginger and toasted malts. Color is a hazy dark brown. Lots of dark malts, juniper, roasted grains and a hint of smoke late swallow. Noticable alcohol presence but not overpowering. Finishes sticky and malty with some lingering spices. It has been a while since I have had a nice dark belgian strong. I like this one a lot. curly (646), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Taste is quite roasty and mostly milk chocolate. A bit thin but a very enjoyable beer. kramer (2469), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2009 22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a large frothy brown head that retained for a long time due to the vigorous carbonation. The nose is fruity dark malts with a bit of alcohol, and heavy candi and brown sugars. The flavor is sort of non-descript, dark fruits and a heavy yeast influence and prominent alcohol. A lot of residual candi sugar sweetness. Mouthfeel is heavy and thick with a cloying stickiness and soft fizzy carbonation. Very very warming. Overall, this was just not that big of a pleasure to drink. Big and messy. Stick to IPAs and hoppy stuff Green Flash!
