Commercial Description:
Our Belgian Style Dark Ale is inspired by traditional Abbey Ales to deliver the richest of malt flavors but with a slightly elevated hopping and increased complexity given from two different yeast strains. This malt laden ale is designed to satiate and keep your taste buds dancing.

Bottle shared at Butter’s Big Cellar Blowout. Clear mahogany pour with ring of white head and garnet highlights. Nose of raisin, plum, figs. Sweet malty body, with soy, brown sugar, caramel, and a coffee, bitterness. Pretty good, but not amazing.

Bottle at Butters Big Cellar Blowout. Pours a tan head with a dark brown body and some legs. Smells of brown sugar and toast. Tastes much the same. Little bitter and charcoal.

THOUGHTS: Rather Belgian, but with a slight twist. It’s basically a little bit stronger version of a dubbel with some west coast hops. Hid the alcohol well. There was more aroma and flavor the warmer it got. I think the hops kind of detracted from what would be a really nice dubbel. The hops in the aroma were nice, but not so much in the flavor. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark brown that was red in the light with a small, light tan head that mostly diminished and left fair to good lacing. The aroma was moderate caramel malt, light chocolate, light citrus hops, light spicy and fruity yeast, flowers and a little tropical fruit. The initial flavor was sweet and bitter; while the finish was sweet, bitter and slightly acidic with a long duration. There was caramel, maple syrup, slight chocolate, a little roasted malt, Fruits, a little brown sugar, yeast, a little pepper and then some citrus hops. The medium to full body was slightly syrupy then all dry with fizzy carbonation and a light alcoholic finish, that also becomes metallic once the yeast was poured in the glass.

Bottle Pours a gorgous brown with a good off white head. The head is creamy and mostly lasting. It also provides good lacing. Has a good sweet aroma of fruits, caramel, and sugar. Has a good carbination. Has some real good flavors. This reminds me of a Belgain from Belgium. Has a good blending. A solid finish with a good aftertaste. Has a watery to dry texture. A tiny little alcohol burn. A good drinking beer.

Mostly headless oily brown, with the slosh of viscosity. Aroma is caramel and brown sugar, but not much else. Taste is dark and grainy with cola notes, and vanilla and tootsie roll in the finish. $8.45/22oz

Pours a dark brown color, with a medium light brown head. Smells of rich caramel malt, toffee, brown sugar, and dark fruits. The flavor is fairly similar, had a good dosage of the dark fruits along with the heavy malt and toffee characters as well. alcohol was definitely noticeable throughout. finished slightly sticky sweet onthe palate. Decent little brew.
