Commercial Description:
Our Belgian Style Dark Ale is inspired by traditional Abbey Ales to deliver the richest of malt flavors but with a slightly elevated hopping and increased complexity given from two different yeast strains. This malt laden ale is designed to satiate and keep your taste buds dancing.

Pours brown with thick tan head. Aroma of bananas, cloves, and yeast. Taste of caramel malt, cloves, and dark fruits. Thick mouthfeel. Spices a little overpowering. OK but disappointing.

Bomber. Deep dark brown pour that started with a nice fluffy head that quickly dissipated. Aroma and flavor of dark fruit, raisin, fig and overly ripe banannas. It seems pretty hot with noticeable alcohol. A good beer but not my favorite from this very awesome brewery.

Bomber. Deep, garnet body topped with a moderate, tan head--firm and foamy. Good retention, coats the glass. Malty aroma of yeasty musk, honey, caramel, lots of esters, banana, dark fruits. Medium body with generous, coarse carbonation and a wet, sticky finish. Taste of caramel malts, dark fruits, clove, some woody-sourness, and a touch of roastiness on the finish. There’s a flair of hops in there; grapefruit rind carries through to the mildly bitter end. Fruity and a bit bitter. Noticeable alcohol as it "breathes." Needs to age.

Bottle from SL. Poured into a snifter. Dark red in color, almost black. Small head that faded quickly. Aroma of raison, dark fruits and candy sugar. Taste is a touch of chocolate, dark fruits, raisons, plums, and sugar. Maybe some roasted malts. Smooth beer, really easy to drink. Overall a really good grand cru.

Bomber poured a clear brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of toffee, banana, burnt carmel, cherry, spice and pepper. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of burnt carmel, toffee, light banana, pepper, light cherry and light spice with a smooth lightly warming bittersweet finish. If this beer tasted as good as it smells it would score a lot higher.

first off: great label, it whisks me away to the islands... . Pours a dark brown with decent foam .. . slightly sweet, needs aesthetic help .. decent stuff but weak for green flash madness!

Pours dark brown with a three finger fizzy head. Medium retention. Good lacing. Not a strong smell. Some hints of alcohol. It has some subtle aromas that I can’t quite pick up. This isn’t going to be very descriptive, but it tastes like a dark ale with high, but not overpowering, alcohol. It has a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Pretty smooth, with medium carbonation. It’s more drinkable than the AleSmith Grand Cru. Definitely not one you’d want to have more than 1 bomber of in a night, but pretty drinkable while you’re on that one.

Deep garnet color with a huge tan head. Big raisony caramel , spicy yeasty aromas. Smooth medium body. Rich dark raison malty sweet flavors with earthy yeasts. By far this is the best Green Flash Belgian to date.
