12oz bottle. Excellent beer, definitely more on the IPA side of things. Great hop presence with a very dark reddish brown color. Godd lingering after taste.

Caramel brown in color, with a head that fades away quickly. For an amber ale this appearance is very nice. Huge malt aroma. The fact that this has only 45 IBUs I wasn’t expecting a very bitter beer, but with a name like "Hop Head" what was I expecting? Huge malty aroma that leans towards a barley wine-type aroma. This was not the aroma that I was expecting. Slight bittering hop that adds a weird flavor to the beer. It seems like this beer should be, or was meant to be a barley wine. The bittering hop is great, but it doesn’t compliment the malt aroma, or flavor. Very sweet malt flavor at first but then that hop hits you very hard. Decent beer, but not one of my favorites.

It is hazy, nice red-brown and the head is huge and creamy. The aroma has notes of fruit, caramel and citrus. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, caramel, candy sugar, fruit, mango, citrus and a dry bitterness in the finish, that is a little out of balance IMO.

Bottle. Hazy dark reddish beer with lots of floaties. Medium thick yellow head with a green shine. Hoppy aroma with a good malty base. Notes of grass, pine and fresh fruit. Very pleasant grassy flavour of bitter amarillo hops with caramel and it ends up fruity and hoppy. Smooth mouthfeel. Great amber.

Bottle. Pours a dark reddish amber color small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy piney aroma with caramel hints. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter caramel hoppy flavor. Has a long hoppy bitter finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy reddish amber with a medium off-white head. Very west coast hop aroma with a grainy malt balance. Grassy hop flavor with a subtle malt balance.

Crushed with Jakebra. Nice hit of floral and pine hops on the nose made me excited. Very thin-bodied with some bittering hops, but not nearly enough. Way too thin. It’s nice, but not excellent.

On draft at Tyler’s Taproom in Durham NC, this brew poured a nice darker red with a nice white head and a good amount of lacing. Nice nose of citrus, pine and floral hops. Nice hoppy IPA flavor with the expected citrus and pine and a perfect amount of carbonation and solid mouthfeel. Tried a couple of brews on this vist to Tyler’s and this was my favorite.
