Nose is all hops, citrus and pine. Taste is moderate bitter with a solid hop flavor, pine, citrus and mild resin with nice malt backbone, caramel with a mild chocolate flavor. Bitter lingers well into the after with some dank hoppiness. Very tasty "amber ale". More of a red IPA. matt7215 (967), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Brownish red with a fast-fading tan head. Aroma is fantastic, multi-note hoppiness which includes floral, citrus and vegetal aspects. Taste is also quite hoppy, with pithy citrus bitterness and a slight biscuity finish. Very clean on the palate, except for a steady, low-level lingering bitterness. Solid stuff, and very drinkable $2/12oz Naka (525), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2008 Pours a dark opaque amber red color with a little beige head that is gone after a few seconds. The aroma is sweet juicy grapefruit and rinds with just a small hint of pine. The flavor is very bitter. Flowers, tea, and dank nuggs. There is a little bit of brown sugar in this, but the star is completely the bitter. The body is medium to light. Leaves a strong bitter on the tongue. If you are a fan of hops, this is awesome. If you crave a little more balance, look elsewhere. NoiZe (1315), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

Dark amber colored brew. Fruity aroma. Fruity, hoppy flavor with crispy full hopbitterness. Nice malts. This is a very good amber. NomDeBeer (400), Maryland, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 16, 2008 12 ounce bottle from a 6 pack purchased at the Davis Food Co-Op. Aroma is sticky, caramelly, musty maltiness with a bit of spicy hop character. Lightly sweet. I really enjoy the smell of this red ale. Transparent amber body with a slight ruddy hue present. Creamy, decent off-white/light tan head with some kick ass lacing. Start is lightly sweet, before it becomes nice and rich. Plenty of roasted and toasted malts come through. A little caramel is also there with some woodiness. Finishes a bit dry, spicy, and earthy. Not overly hoppy. Very well balanced a amazingly drinkable. Great stuff!
