Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Green Flash Imperial India Pale Ale is a very clear, quite sparkling, lighter amber ale. The head is frothy, fluffy and yellowish off-white with excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is of grass, hay and lemon. It is medium-full bodied, very smooth and frothy with a clean, delicate finish. It is not over-the-top or overwhelming. It is very well balanced. It is bready and grassy with a note of hay. There isn’t really any sweetness or juiciness. It’s savory. A well done Imperial IPA.

Grassy, Grapefruit and slight toast and earth in the nose. Light body, light orange to deep gold color. Flavors similar to nose, but more toast, orange and slight estery, apple characters. Dry, but a much too bitter finish.

a- pours a dark orange hue with three fingers of creamy white head, excellent lacing throughout s- nose is of fragrant citrus and piney hops, well balanced malt profile underneath, but this is definitely dominated by the hops (Summit & Nugget) t- Delicious bitter hops that are not overwhelming, piney resin throughout is balanced by the more subtle malts, aftertaste is slightly bitter with a brief alcohol kick that is short-lasting m- Medium-bodied and oily mouthfeel, adequate carbonation d- Wow, this is one delicious and well-balanced DIPA that truly masks the abv, I could have several of these in a sitting without getting bored

Crushed with Jakebra. Pretty nice DIPA. A little thin-bodied. Flavor and nose are both pretty excellent though. Good balance of hops and malt. Nice grapefruit, pine nose. Flavor is decently bitter. Not incredible, but better than average.

22 Oz. bottle - popped nicely. The pour was even, nice head - slight piny scent of hops. Head retention was nice and carbonation perfect. Aroma was more malt than aroma hop. Initial taste had hints of malt, quite bitter (maybe around 80 IBU’s to my palate even though the bottle identifies 101I IBU), alcohol was present but not overpowering. Glass lacing was nice - mouth feel was full, not overly sharp. My overall impression was this is a good solid IPA - well in the realm of an IPA - the bitterness was mostly bittering hops and I missed the aroma hop to balance it. The malt was nice. A decent Imperial but not the best. I’d drink it again and would buy it again.

Another awesome SoCal IPA from the same mold as Stone Ruination. Dark golden color with a medium off-white head. Very piney west coast hop aroma. Strong citrus and hops along with some caramel malt, smooth mouthfeel, crisp finish.

Bottle. Pours a golden orange with a nice head. Big hoppy nose- spicy floral notes with no fruity sweetness. Same with the flavor and finish- barely any sign of malt presence.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a murky old gold color with a smallish light-tan head. A pungent aroma of pine needles, grapefruits, orange rinds, and lemons. Medium to full-bodied and on the syrupy side. Some sweet caramel and oranges at the start. Transitions very quickly to grapefruity flavors and a tongue-stripping drying bitterness that lingers. Pepper is present. Predominantly one-sided and fairly harsh. Delicious!
