The aroma was very prominent even when the bottle passed under my nose. A big floral pine and citrus smell, very appealing. This is a big tasty beer. Hop flavor and bitterness are prominent, grassy and pine and lemon. Malt provides balance and some residual sweetness but aftertaste is a lingering hop flavor. Alcohol is very well hidden. Well done. popery (195), San Francisco, California, USA

The smell is bitter orange, pine and caramel. Big and fairly dry with a good bitter hop resin kick. chriso (4851), London, Greater London, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 25, 2009 On tap at Deep Ellum, Allston (Boston) MA, October 2009. Orange colour. This is indeed all about the hops (no surprise there) and very good hops they are too. The usual stuff in abundance – pine, resin, grapefruit. Doesn’t lapse too much into sticky sweet territory as some DIPAs can. And the alcohol, whilst evident, is not too hot and boozy. Excellent stuff. Maverick34 (716), New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Copper coloured with a creamy off-white head. Nice pine and caramell aroma with perfumey notes. Flavour is lots of caramell, less hoppy than expected, rather mild and round. A ok I/DIPA, their WCIPA stands out more. monkeychugg55 (242), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Updated: Nov 19, 2009Pours a slightly hazy golden copper with a medium sized white head that falls apart rather quickly, but leaves tons of lacing. The aroma is loud and powerful grapefruit, with some pine, and candy. A faint amount of malt is also detectable. The flavor starts out with sweet caramel malt, to grapefruit and citrus, to pine and hop bitterness. Long bitter finish. This is full bodied with soft but lively carbonation. Nice hop profile like nothing I’ve had before. Another great beer from Green Flash. ansermadide (521), Kyle, Texas, USA

This high-IBU, high alcohol IPA has a cloudy yellow color, a hoppy "green" aroma, and a silky, syrupy hop flavor followed by a numbing hop finish. This is a well-crafted, well-flavored and well-balanced IPA. tarheels86 (799), Washington DC, USA

Pours a clear light orange with a one-finger white head that has pretty good retention and leaves okay lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, butterscotch, booze. Taste is herbal hops, some syrupy sweetness, butterscotch candies, brazil nut, almonds. Overall, a very nutty, cloying DIPA, ie a bit stale. Would like to try this fresh in Cali.
