Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

The aroma almost kills the experience. A little more pine than I care for. The appearance is everything an IIPA should be. The palate is all PINE!!!! This is as close to shoving a christmas tree in your mouth as it comes.

Thanks to Juancho. Drank it in Panajachel, Guatemala. A bit disappointed, although great. Pours an orange/cloudy color with a good white head. Aromas of pine and citrus. Medium bodied, very dry, lacks complexity in flavors, I like my IIPAS a bit more sweeter.

Aroma is a fresh hop scent. Color is a bright golden with good carbonation and a thick tight head. Taste is rich and hoppy. Starting with a full body it goes down with a bold rich feel. Finish comes in malty sweet then a bold hop flavor and bitterness with just a hint of citrus. After taste is a little more citrus and a gentle lingering bitterness. This is a great Imperial IPA, its bold, hoppy and there’s just the right amount of citrus.

Pours a hazed orangish-yellow color with an aggressively lace-inducing off white head composed of microscopic bubbles mixed with larger frog egg-like bubbles...the nose at first was unadulterated mango flesh but it started to smell like piney herbs after a while...and then growing towards a hippy-like smell...but after sniffing for a very long time, all i could smell was soil and fruit juice. Mouthfeel here was somewhat on the thick and syrupy side but the hop character was very herbal, piney, and dry..so it somewhat made the beer as a whole feel less syrupy than it probably was. The hop character in this beer can be a love/hate thing for just one person and during the same bottle...at times the hops are herbal, piney, and earthily bitter...other times, it almost tastes as though the hops are rotting..and you are eating lettuce out of the compost pile...split personality.

Orange-amber hue with a nice white which had excellent lacing. Aroma was rich with pine notes some sweetness hidden in there but the pine was front and center. Flavor was far sweeter than I expected. Nice Fruit notes and some honey followed by a great hop profile.

22 oz bottle - crystal clear slightly dark yellow color with small pure white head. Aroma is full of fresh, piney, resiny hops, orange and lemon zest, touch of honey. Flavor has a ton of sharp, pungent, herbal hops, with touch of oranges, light caramel. Finish is very bitter. Definitely a prototypic west coast style, fantastic aroma.

pours a hazy yellowish orange. almost glowing. resinous piney aroma. sweet malty taste. Bitterness is very strong, but hop character is more limited. seems to have a fruity tone to it. I taste peaches or apricots. Bitter, with a heavy dense sweetness; reminds me somewhat of a barley wine but not as much bitterness and harshness. pretty well in balance.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden amber with a very fine and thick head that quickly dissipates. Smells of hops, pine, and old wet grass. A contrived balance of very bitter and very caramely. Light body with very mild carbonation. Extremely dry and rather astringent finish. I thoroughly appreciate many IPAs but this is a bit over the top hopped.
