| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 20, 2008 Pours gold with a good sized white head. Strong citrus hop (grapefruit, orange, etc.) aroma. Flavor was the same but had some burnt plastic and a really off malt character. Slight garbage juice flavor as well. Finishes pretty thin, very bitter. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2008 Bottle from IrishBoy. Thanks! Pours an average cheddar orange with a pine resin, grapefruit, and orange nose. Flavor is malt upfront, with a nice finish of grapefruit. Feels nice on the tongue but the flavor fades too quickly. Pretty good, but the malt detracts from the sour tones that should be first and foremost in the beer. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2008 My Bottom Line:
This immensely fun Double IPA’s hop celebrations jump from piney, resinous greenness to orangey, citrusy fruitiness and sandy earthiness over and under svelte biscuity cereals until dashing bitter hop fireworks send the tastebuds reeling...and coming back for more.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A lofty head of foam recedes to a lasting veil atop the relatively clear blond-amber.
-You might say this lacks malt presence, but I guess malt is not often the point in a Double IPA.
-Amenable big bubbles and slender maltiness make for high drinkability, especially for the style.
-Alcohol is well hidden by the boisterously joyous hoppiness.
-Hops also produce a pipe tobacco-like character at times.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2008 Bottle acquired via trade with hillfiiiiire...THANKS AGAIN NICK!!! This one is definitely a step above the rest of Green Flash’s brews (my opinion, of course). Hop Head & West Coast IPA seem to be hoppy just for the sake of being hoppy, if that makes sense. This one, although BIG, exhibits some balance of flavors. Golden, aggressive, refined. Drink4Satan (586), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 16, 2008 I had this side by side with Moylands DIPA at the Lazy Boy Saloon in White Plains, NY (highly recomemded) and this was a close second. The colour was a bit paler, but had great head retention. The hop flavour is very fresh, pungent and herbal. It lacked a solid backbone and was all hop flavour. The finish was insanely long and crisp, finishing very dry. The hops also displayed a pine flavour typical of NW hops. Straight forward, but still a quality DIPA. skortila (2913), Bunnik, Netherlands

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Bottled sample via (and shared with) oakbluff. Almost clear light orange in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of fresh cut grass, c-hops, and chives. Loads of green c-hops in the mouth, along with more green onion, earth, and light pale malts. A hint of woodiness was also present. Medium bodied with a clean finish. Great stuff... highlight of the night for me! neredneck (7), New Hampshire, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Updated: Jun 28, 2008Bottled bold taste and well constructed pretty balanced easy to drink, smooth, soft.
