Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Bottle. Pours Hazy orange with a thick off-white head. Excellent lacing. Huge citrus hops aroma. Very well balanced by a huge addition of malt(s). Good example of the style. Nice and bitter, but nothing like the Ruination. Overall: very good.

(n) Solid, well crafted entry into an already-crowded style. Pours a very clear strikingly bright orange (none of the common GF sediment!) with a big ’ole off white head. Smells of smooth tangerine sweetness and sticky citrus hops. Taste is "all about the hops". There is an even, clean maltiness throughout, but the emphasis is definitely on the big load of sharp citrus/piney hops. Big, even bittering, lemony citrus and tangy grapefruit notes all over the place. Some chalky bite on the back of the palate, and a tad oily on the palate, but nothing that isn’t to be expected from a big hop bomb like this.

bottle. Amber colored and very bubbly. has a thick frothy head that maintains itself quite well. smells citrusy, rich, and sweet like candy. very richly hoppy. not as citrusy or floral in taste as in smell, but it tastes like you are chewing on the hops themselves, with some grass or celery thrown in. has a combination of sweet and bitter that may be like grapefruit with sugar on top. well-balanced to rich toasty malts.

On tap @ Mission Pizza, pours clear golden orange. Very fresh hop nose, and more so in the flavor. A bit unbalanced missing the malt.

From Chas. E., Aarhus, DK. Bottled, 010608. Orange with white head. Aroma of orange and fruit. Light caramel flavor and a grapefruit bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden.

Warm amber-golden with huge, nice and creamy head. The aroma is nicely hopped with notes of pine and fruit. The flavour has a smooth and pleasant caramel foundation with a light sweetness and it ends bitter, but not in an extreme way. The notes are fruity hops, citrus, mostly oranges, mango, a touch of papaya and pine. It’s quite charming.

Head goes quickly. Nose is a pungent aroma ketchup and yellow onions (yup that’s the best way I can describe it.) Beautiful orange tinge on color. Exceptionally dry on the palate. Flavor is to me onions infused with grapefruit and oranges with slight malt to temper the intense dryness of the hops. Very unique and utterly over the top. Dry grapefruit chewing rind finish.

Pours hazy orange with a tall frothy head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, spruce -- serious hop bouquet. Serious bitter finish that sort of hits you in the face. Alcohol is evident. Reminds me of Stone and Lagunitas. I love this style. Maybe I should move to Southern California.
