Commercial Description:
"San Diego-style IPA, as it has come to be known by many, is a super-hoppy, high gravity, yet highly quaffable ale. Green Flash Imperial IPA is created in this new tradition, with intense hop flavors and aromas from a unique blend of Summit and Nugget hops. It’s all about the hops!" -- Brewmaster Chuck Silva

Very light yellow colour for an IPA, especially for an Imperial. Lasting white head that’s firm and leaving lace. Aroma is obviously filled with hops, some herbal pine, lots of citrus with some dish washing soap, and some exotic fruit, mostly peach and pineapple. There is a little alcohol in the flavour, and a little fruity sweetness, but it’s all about the bitterness! Delicious, insane bitterness that burns your throat a little and a strong hop flavour with fresh tobacco, pine and grapefruit notes. Some American brewers seem to prefer big IPAs with a lot of maltiness and sweetness, but this one is perfectly balanced to my taste. Not chalky dry, but dry enugh to let the hops play lead all the way.

Golden amber color with a thin white head. Soapy hop nose, more like a pale ale than a double IPA. Flavor is very hoppy, citrusy hops and a tangy dryness. Not bad but not overly remarkable.

on tap @ papago... pours a golden yellow with a fluffy whitish head. lots of pillowy lacing. initial aroma is really floral followed by citrus, pine, earthy and catty hops. this smells like high quality weed with some light caramel to back it up. the palate is surprisingly dry... low malt sweetness with flavors of dried grass, wood, mango and the barrage of hops from the aroma. dry bitter piney finish. medium to full bodied. the texture is rather oily but has no stickiness or sweet residue... awesome! clearly a different monster on tap...

Bottle from Sparky27. Pours a amber color with a nice white head that lasts a few minutes. Smells of pine and grapefruit dominate. Tastes like a smooth IIPA and has a nice malt base to it. Good stuff.

22oz bottle from bevmo. pours a light subtle copper with a milky lasting head.. the aroma is filled with a stout hoppiness of pines and hints of a mossy almost earthy scent. The initial hit is an explosion of sweet hops that have hints of orange, lime, caramel, almond, sunflower and about 10 other flavors that I cant identify because Im too busy enjoying each sip... Not overpowering but the aftertaste lingers long enough to remind you its an IMPERIAL.. very good.

(Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD) Pours light amber with a small off white head. The aroma is medium to heavily hoppy, medium to heavily malty and a bit ester-ish with tones of orange, tea, lime, resin, lychee, mild mango, hints of flowers, caramel, toast, almond paste, peach, cocktail cherries, cheese, some yeast and a medium alcohol warmth. The flavour is medium malty and medium to heavily hoppy with tones of resin, floral/mild pine, citrus – mostly orange peel, lime and some grapefruit, star fruit, mango, toast and caramel. The mouthfeel is clean, a bit harsh and peppery with a super dry finish. Medium to full afterbitterness with a spicy sting. Some alcohol coming through in the flavour as well. Bitter hops, some light fruits and alcohol lingers. Medium to full bodied. Nice but not super special.

Bottle@vinens_verden,Odense: Pours gold/copper with a creamy white head. Aroma is hops mainly - a lot of grass & fruit. Piney/grapefruit. Super funky fresh & bitter taste. Crispy. Wow - extremely quaffable. A bit of bread & caramel sweetness to balance it. Just about enough of everything! Woo hah - this brother got me in check! And the alcohol is totally anonymous! So impressed!
