22oz. from trade with GMCC (Gabe)...Thanks man! Aroma is loaded with florals, sweet citrus fruits, spices, and yeast...Rivals Two-Hearted as the best beer Ive ever smelled. Pours a nice amber with a very thin white head. Flavor is unbelievable! Every sip is loaded with different spices, the perfect amount of hops, different citrus fruits, and some grasses...the unbelievable smell is impossible to ignore as you take every sip. The Belgian Strong - IPA hybrid is genius! Leaves a bitter aftertaste and a weird mouthfeel...this is definately the only downside to this beer. Overall...this beer is just fantastic...I need to find some more in this style because its a damn shame I cant buy it in my home state...Cant thank Gabe enough for sending it my way!

Reviewed 1/25/2009 (bottle): Pours a cloudy amber yellow colored body, with an average but quickly diminishing white. Pretty good lacing. Very bitter hoppy aroma. Also sweet and flowery. A lot of sweet spiciness. Soft palate, spicy taste. Some light floralness. Some bitterness too, but not very hoppy tasting. A little sourness. Definitely tastes like a weak cross between an IPA and a Belgian. Alcoholy as it warms up more.

In short: A very perfumy and soapy Belgian ale that manages to be surprisingly drinkable
How: Bottle 22oz. Probably about 6 months old (consumed about 2 months after receiving it). Sent my way by Hellbilly, thanks a lot Joshua.
The look: Partly cloudy golden body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: The intense floral nose is very perfumy with something reminiscent of perfumed soap. Taste is very soapy, dried fruits (peach, citrus), rose water, candy sugar. Unsurprisingly the finish is intensely floral, like a concentrate of romantic flowers juice. As the beer warmed up the soapy/perfumy nature of the beer went down but unfortunately the candy sugar was also coming through more. Bubble gum showing up here and there. The first 80% of the bottle was good but the yeasty end of the bottom was even better with the dusty yeast dying out the beer. Very good Green Flash Le Me.

[Bottle] shared by timbeer. Pours a bright hazy gold with a large, fluffy beige head. Aroma is loaded with yeasty esters - clove, banana, but the lack of hops is a little odd. Somewhat grassy. Flavor is initially a bit like rubber cement, and the alcohol promotes that perception quite a bit. As I drink it that fades away into lots of yeastiness, cloves, and spices along with a significant amount of hop bitterness. I wonder if this is an older bottle, because this represents more of a tripel than an IPA. However it maintains the IPA bitterness. Nice rich mouthfeel and well carbonated. Had a lot of potential, but I’d like to try a fresher bottle of this to get a bit more of that hop aroma and flavor.

An amazing wall of hops battling on the tongue with some Belgian yeast funkiness. While both elements seem like they could be great beers, only Stone has been able to pull of this Beglain IPA combo. Wished for better, but about as expected.

22oz. bomber, with thanks to stefanje for the great bonus! Pours a hazy golden with a large foamy white head, great retention and lacing. Aroma is floral, citrus, a hint of perfume, and some nice spicy belgian yeast. Flavor is more of the same, but a little more citrus hops bite with spicy yeast more out front, with a lingering grapefruit peel on the finish. Nice stuff and GF pulls off the style combination well. (bottle - 22 oz) Cloudy amber color with a big and thick white head that makes great lacing. Aroma is very interesting. A lot of floral hops and citrus mixed with that distinctive Belgian yeast aroma. Rather spicy. The flavor is very spicy and yeasty at the beginning that blends well with a floral and citrusy hop bite. The bitterness lingers for a long time and transcends into a sweet and fruity middle and a very bitter floral finish. Tons of bitterness throughout. Quite interesting, but definitely reminded me of a strong IPA.

Pour is a cloudy orange with a nice white head that hangs out for awhile. Nose is full of hops. Smells like a double IPA with yeast in it. Good smell. At first taste it is sweet and hoppy. Maybe a little too sweet. Then at the end you get a sour and bitter taste followed by a little warming from the 9% ABV. Good lacing. Final verdict is that it is more of an IPA or a double IPA. A very interesting brew that you should at least try once.
