22oz bottle: Pours to an opaque, cloudy medium amber colored body with a medium eggshell colored head that lasts the entire length of drinking the beer (in my case about 20min/glass). The aroma is fruity esters of banana, clove, and peach skin, some sweet light malts, and hints of earthy & flowery hops. The taste is flowery hops and sweet bready malt up front, followed by some more intense spicy & pine bitter hops, a peppery alcohol burn, with some light lemon notes and a hint of sweet, lightly caramelized malt hiding in the background. The finish shows strong retronasal hop scents of grapefruit rind and pine, with residual sweetness in the mouth, almost covered up by the lingering bitterness from the hops. The body on this beer is perfect - medium bodied, medium carbonation, both of which combine with the unfiltered nature of the beer to create a silky, velvety & creamy mouthfeel, while still receiving crispness from the tiny carbonation bubbles created from bottle conditioning. Although the mouthfeel is perfect, I’m not sure I like the blending of these two styles as the hops tends to drown out some of the other flavors.

Dec 27, 2009 Explosive hops up in here, both the abv% and trippel sweetness are perfectly tempered. Long lingering hop/citrus aftertaste. Gorgeous cloudy color w/sediment, mouth is thick and very nice. The only brew I have for comparison is Stone Cali-Belgique, and I love that brew, but in terms of gelling these styles Cali-Belgique is amateur hour compared to this.

Dec 22, 2009 Poured clear and amber with an almost two-finger white head and lots of lacing. The aroma was floral, herbal and pine hops with plenty of sweet malts and a bit of spicy yeast. The flavor was fresh floral hops with some herbal and pine to it. Lots of sugary malts and yeast that you’d identify in a tripel. Medium bodied with a very dry mouthfeel. A really nice mash-up.

Dec 19, 2009 Unusual but solid. Just like all green flash beers i’ve tried. Can definitely taste the blend of both styles which is kinda cool. Alcohol is hidden well too. This sucker sneaks up on ya. Might drink again.

Dec 13, 2009 Very belgiany. i can tell this bottle must be old, i don’t detect the hops i was expecting and i hear other people commenting on. nice sweetness, definitely well made. with this much age on it it’s like a nice triple, i’d love to try a fresh bottle some day though.

Dec 5, 2009 Good hoppy West Coast style IPA that feels like it’s blended with a Belgian golden ale. Thick white head and clear light amber body from the 22 oz bottle leaves spectacular lacing. Mild, pleasant aroma of floral hops, caramel, and sourdough bread. The Belgian yeast is well behaved in a waltz with Northwest hop bitters and mellow malts. The combination comes off spicy/peppery, with a whiff of alcohol dryness on the finish.

Dec 3, 2009 Bomber from the local. Leans more on the side of an IPA than a Trippel for me. Seems like the bitter hops took over the Belgian yeast in flavor. Only a hint of yeast in the beginning with the hops soon dominating, mostly pine little citrus. Could of been balanced better in my opinion.

Nov 27, 2009 Really glad I satisfied my curiosity and found out what this is all about but not really sure I’d ever feel compelled to go back to it much. Sort of a strange beer that’s hard to get your tastebuds around. Hard to sort out all of the flavors. Maybe that’s good. It’s certainly complex and flavorful. But just not enough of any one style for me to feel comfortable with more than one bottle.

Nov 12, 2009 Bready lemony nose, Great thick mouthfeel. Bitterness from the start to the finish. Didn’t fine the Belgian flavor profile. A little perfumy in the aroma and the taste. Don’t care for it. It’s crafted well, and it’s not the first hybrid of these styles i tried. I do not think it should be under this style heading, it’s more like a IPA, not that it should be under that style ether. Oh well, good job! but it doesn’t work for me.
