Flavors of nuts, caramel. toffee, & molasses. Had some cardination & a little more hops than most Brown Ales-still not a lot. Thin watery mouthfeel. It was ok, solid, drinkable, but nothing special. I’d drink it if offered, but I wouldn’t seek it out or buy it. Nejhleader (930), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 9, 2007 Poured a coffee brown color with a tan head, solid lacing. The aroma was sweet chocolate and light coffee. The flavor was sweet milk chocolate, cocoa, and light nuts, finishing with a touch of roasted malts. With warmer temperatures, the balance was actually better than the initial sweetness. Still too tipped toward sweet and malty, but drinkable, ok. cheapdark (2047), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2007 Pour is darkish red brown. On tap at the Bocktown in Robinson shopping complex. Clear with no haze whatsoever. Aroma is surprisingly vinegary but pleasant. Nice head fades to about a coating in a few moments. Flavor and aroma are very unique. Roasty malt earthly but not bitter. Very gentle. Finish is good too. There is some hops flavor in there but it is not bitter, more unique than anything. No linger on the flavor also. Seems to have the right amount of personality. Rates up there with troegs rugged, wild goose and bells. Much better than dogfishhead indian. Overall, just plain good beer. Smells different and tastes different. This is not the same old beer. thegreenrooster (1846), St.louis, Missouri, USA
