Jan 7, 2008 The smell was almost wine-like, which I liked. Dark roasted malts and a very hoppy and nutty flavor.

Dec 31, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Aroma strong with malts and nutty, almost warm woodsy smells. Dark rich amber in appearance with medium body and frothy, fluffy, large off-white head. Flavors of dry caramel, but not as sweet, with roasted nut. Front palate is wetter with a more barley-grain taste, mid palate is earthy again and this beer finishes with a nice malty aftertaste. Low hoppy flavor in mid palate. Would pair well with a roasted animal such as duck, turkey, beef or buffalo or a heavier squash risotto dish.

Dec 30, 2007 The brown ales as a group are generally not my first choice. Green Flash as a brewry has made some ecellent IPAS. This was the 8th beer of Christmas 2007. I had earlier in the week one of their IPOAS which was excellent. The brown ale was of medium body and nutty malt flavors. The ale poured a dark brown with slight head.

Dec 27, 2007 12 oz bottle...Dark brown with amber highlights, light brown head...mild hops on the sniff...caramel malts, sweet sniffs...flavor mild citrus (hops present)...some malts, some of this some of that, but not all that....finish on the verge of grapefruit to metal....wish I was impressed more, but with green flash , I feel they should stick to IPA’s

Dec 16, 2007 12oz Bottle: Clear dark amber body w/ a small light brown head. Soft malts & some light hops in the aroma. Some roasted malts in the flavor w/ a slightly bitter, hoppy finish. Muddled flavor, I had a hard time w/ this one. Hard to pick anything out...

Dec 11, 2007 One of only a few slightly boring beers from Green Flash. Poured a deep brown that was slightly amber) with an average off-white head. Roasty, nutty nose with a mild hint of sweetness and bitterness. Bland yet session-worthy.

Dec 4, 2007 Pours reddish - dark brown, a little murky with a medium tan head. Smells sweet roasted malt, nutty and a touch of cola. Nice smooth feel, but it could be a bit fuller. Taste is toasty, nutty malt with a nice hop bitterness, The flavor is not especially intense but this is well balanced and quite drinkable. Solid, sessionable ale.

Dec 1, 2007 I was excited when I popped the bottle open ad caught the nice malty aroma. Other than that, this beer is completely underwhelming. It’s low on flavor and almost seems like a weak light beer. It’s definitely not a turn off (i.e. I’d drink it again if it was in front of me), but I just won’t expect much more than a chugging beer..
