RHeastings (377), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 26, 2009 Enjoyed via 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice deep red color. Initially, I thought it might be similar to Hop Head Red or another one of their hop-forward examples. However, I was surprised to get heavy notes of malt in both the aroma, as well as on the palate. Definitely a "Dusseldorf" Alt, the drinker gets notes of Munich malt flavors, balanced to a pretty fair extent by the use of what I sensed to be German noble hops. It is a shame that this one is retired (I must have just lucked out and got an old bottle), as it was quite enjoyable. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Feb 3, 2008 Pours a slightly cloudy deep amber. Foamy tan head with some lasting power. Aromas of hops and caramel. Good flavors of caramel and malt, with a hint of citrus on the finish. Bought this because of the display at Sun Devil Liquors, but was nicely surprised. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 09/03/2006
