Commercial Description:
A deep reddish-amber brew that is characterized by the savory toasted flavors of Munich malt. German varieties of hops are used in the brewing process which lends a European flare that is much like the "Altbier" style of Dusseldorf. Having a medium body and a firm, crisp finish gives the perception of driness, leaving the drinker quenched and ready to quaff another.

Bottle: Reddish caramel, or "Ruby Red", moderate sand colored head, foamy, decent lacing.   Grain oriented nose, some meat and potatoes as well.   Reminds me of a nice meal!   Rich malty start, hop bitterness is lower than expected, still coming across as a meal, meat, potatoes, and vegetables all mixed together.   Decent body, moderate mouthfeel.   Meaty beer, just not overly interesting or filled with hoppy goodness that I thought this Red might be.   Still decent, probably great with dinner.   Hearty malty brew.

My first altbier. This is an interesting one. Dark brown/red in color with no head. The aroma was hops with a tad of malt but very weak. The taste is like...well....iced tea. There is some hoppiness in the swallow and some caramel/malt before the swallow but this more or less tastes like Lipton Iced tea carbonated. I must try more of this style! Delicious and different!

Pours a translucent ruby amber with an average off with creamy head that left some lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, citrus hops, vanilla, lots of sweet malts! Flavor of sweet malts, slightly fruity an d little hoppy. Lingering hop bitterness.

A hazy amber beer with a light brown head. The aromais sweetmalty with notes of berries and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of berries, but also a bit of roasted malt and alcohol.

Bottle, 6.0%. Nice, sweet, spicy aromatic hoppiness. Cloudy red amber colour. Dusty and nice. Quite bitter with a distinct bitterness.
