| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Darker brown color with a hefty aroma of roast, chocolate, and coffee. Flavor has the roast and complexity of an impy stout but is smoother and more drinkable than most. Nice feel. Best non-impy "standard" stout since Kalamazoo. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Bottle from Perry’s Livermore. Decent straight up stout. Pours black with tan head - quite a bit of it too. Nose is roastiness, and smoke - very much like fresh roasted coffee. Some chocolate notes in there too. Fairly dry, reminds me of Ten Fidy, without the alcohol burn. TimE (1302), Tokyo, Japan
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Pitch black color with a dark brown head. Dark chocolate, dark fruit and baked cake give this beer depth from beginning to end. Rich, but not sweet, nor cloying. Decent bitter finish. Moreish. Give me more. Madsnp (625), Odense C, Denmark

Lovely thick and dense brown longlasting head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, espresso and fruity yeast. Flavour is bitter and roasted with sweet chocolicious malts. Nice balance. Notes of licorice aswell. Smooth and creamy texture. I really enjoyed this one.. BrotherGrendel (588), San Diego, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Roasty and silky, full bodied and very heavy. I love Green Flash, but this was kind of dissapointing. Not that it was at all bad, but I thought it could have a bit more flavor. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Mar 6, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours almost pitch black with a small tan head. The first scent I get from this one is alcohol and not in a good way. It has a very heavy alcohol presence in the nose. Very dry on the palate. Definite taste of peat, burnt malt, some coffee. Reminds me of an islay scotch. Overall this one seems pretty unbalanced to me. After reading all of the reviews, this one did not live up to expectations, but I will try it again just to make sure I didn’t get a bad bottle.
