Dark chocolate, dark fruit and baked cake give this beer depth from beginning to end. Rich, but not sweet, nor cloying. Decent bitter finish. Moreish. Give me more. Madsnp (627), Odense C, Denmark

Lovely thick and dense brown longlasting head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, espresso and fruity yeast. Flavour is bitter and roasted with sweet chocolicious malts. Nice balance. Notes of licorice aswell. Smooth and creamy texture. I really enjoyed this one.. BrotherGrendel (599), San Diego, California, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Roasty and silky, full bodied and very heavy. I love Green Flash, but this was kind of dissapointing. Not that it was at all bad, but I thought it could have a bit more flavor. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Mar 6, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours almost pitch black with a small tan head. The first scent I get from this one is alcohol and not in a good way. It has a very heavy alcohol presence in the nose. Very dry on the palate. Definite taste of peat, burnt malt, some coffee. Reminds me of an islay scotch. Overall this one seems pretty unbalanced to me. After reading all of the reviews, this one did not live up to expectations, but I will try it again just to make sure I didn’t get a bad bottle. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Bottle, #461. Black pour with minimal head but some good lacing. Strong roasted malt aroma and complex flavor including some roasted coffee. Thick, good beer. buzzoven (333), Japan

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2009 I will always give new Green Flash beers a shot because the West Coast is such a wonderful beer. This was black and smelled delicious. Roasty, smoky smells, dark chocolate, good job. The flavor is nice but not as good as the aroma. Easy to drink because the alcohol is undetectable. Overall this was certainly worth the money but I still think the West Coast IPA and barleywine are their winners.
