| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2009 Plenty of chocolate and some citrus along with biscuity and coffee like dark malt character in the nose. Opaque black body is topped by a dense, fine bubbled, tan head that recedes to a long lasting cover with some spotty lacing. Chocolate and dark malt battle throughout the flavour while a pleasant fruity ester emerges especially in the aftertaste. Bitterness from the hops and prominently from dark malts is quite pronounced and lingering. Medium body with moderate to strong carbonation that is lightly prickly on the tongue. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in Feb-09. drfabulous (1267), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2009 Aroma. The way I like it. Chocolate and roasted coffee. Creamy head. Delicious. Wow. Lots of dark rich flavors here. This is very nice indeed. I have this lingering taste of chocolate in my mouth. I don’t hear people raving about this one, but they should. It is up there with some of the best stouts on the market. Frauditor (148), Hagerstown, Maryland, USA

Great aromas of burnt malts, coffee and malt balls. Poured a jet brown with a sudsy head. Flavors of burnt malts, roasted malts, dark fruit, and dark chocolate, finishing with a spicy hop note. Silky smooth, perfectly carbonated. More people need to try this, great price for a world class IMPY. markwise (1187), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 12, 2009 Pours dark black with a dark brown head. Some roasted character, chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit parade around in the nose. Flavor has ripe dark fruit, coffee bitterness, slight vanilla flavor, and floral hops at the end. Finish ends abruptly with some bitterness, but overall a nice stout. Nice Belgian lace on the glass, too. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Awesome stout, good too see green flash brewing some fine beers. back when i lived in sd they had about 3 so-so beers. This is keeping with their new tradition of having high powered and high flavored beers. Solid stout, fits in with the sd brotherhood of stouts. Big coffee, moreso than the chocolates. zach8270 (2127), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 6, 2009 (bottle - 22 oz) Clear black pour with a lot of puffy brown foam. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, cream, and some toasted nut notes as well. Surprisingly light. Flavor is roasty at the beginning with hints of coffee, toasted malts, some light hops, cream, and the same nuts, almost a mixture of almonds and hazelnuts. Finishes bitter and roasty with the alcohol very well hidden. nbutler11 (769), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
