Very deep brown pour with a solid creamy light brown head. Big aroma here - solid deep roast more than matched by beefy resin bitterness - a little lactic tartness in there too, just for giggles. Another excellent stout that is simple and well done - dry, herbal bitterness which matches up well with heavy roast coffee and chocolate, enough tart cherry or other fruit character to add the impression of another dimension. Surprisingly soft mouthfeel, decent body, only mildly carbonated but who can mind, the finish takes its time and there’s a little dry acidity left on the tongue to make you want more - very good, actually seems understated, for such a brawny stout - the underlying hoppiness really makes this one. minch25 (367), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma: malted milk, very upfront hops, rich chocolate. very hoppy flavor. Charred and hoppy goodness. Very bitter aftertaste. Not spectacular but I still think this is pretty cool. And I really like how this is right in between a regular and an imperial stout. HonkeyBra (1361), Lemont, Illinois, USA

Pours Dark black with nice, big, frothy tan head. Big chocolate coffee nose. Nice roasty chocolate flavor, and lots of dark fruits with dry finish. Great thick mouthfeel. I had trouble finishing the bottle, though. Not to say it got cloying, because it didn’t., but the flavor became a bit too much. Probably should have shared it with a bra. How big does a stout have to get afore it’s "imperialized"? Be that as it may - This pours a deep, dark brown, nearly black, with a modest brown head that laces in sheets. Very nice aroma of roasted malt, milk chocolate, oats, and a light hit of hops. Smooth. It tastes of chocolate and dark roasted malts with just a touch of oats. Sweet, roasty finish. Nice. There was a good chocolate/roast aroma with just a little of the oatmeal slickness you can get with oatmeal stout. This was a very tasty beer. Vas19 (299), Maryland, USA

Flavour reminds me of Brooklyn Chocolate although alcohol is quieter here. Lots of cocoa in the mouth and finish. after4ever (2822), Brier, Washington, USA

Dang, what a great treat to just have randomly handed to you one afternoon. Nearly jet black. Sticky, solid sheets of lace. Modest, thin tan rim. Big chocolate nose. Gorgeous creamy thick body. Toast and a little bit of bitter dark baking chocolate. Beautifully balanced with a little sweet. Clean dry finish. What a beer!
