Commercial Description:
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Pours black, thick brown head. Nice ’’’’souty’’’’ aroma - chocolate, coffee, etc. Very rich flavor, very smooth. Subtle dark chocolate mix with coffee and a touch of dryness in the finish. Probably a bit more than the some of it’s parts - no one component stands out, but solid as a whole.

Bottle. Pours black with a luscious thick brown head the color of a chocolate milkshake. Aroma of rich sweet malt, roast, and coffee. Flavor of nice coffee and roast with some wheaty, bitter hops in the finish. Nice stout, approaching an imperial stout with iits strong mouthfeel. Rich, not particularly flavorful, but still a good drink.

Bottle. Aroma of bitter coffee grinds, cocoa, sweet alcohol. Flavor has some dried fruit notes with heaps of chocolate, and bitterness mingling nicely with these sweeter aspects, though the sweeter side wins out at the finish. Full bodied. Nice one, albeit not mindblowing.

Aroma of rich coffee and dark chocolate, darkest brown, pours a slight toffee head. Flavour is a full roasted malt, dark chocolate too. Full bodied, bitter as hell. Fabulous! Thanks Torontoblue.

22oz bottle, courtesy of Ernest. Thanks! Pours a very dark, chocolate-brown color; medium tan head with solid, fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of roasted malts, oily dark chocolate, and bitter cocoa and minerals in the aroma; nicely dry and well-roasted. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, oily dark chocolate and dried fruits, well-roasted coffee, and roasted / lightly charred malts upfront; average carbonation; very solid, slightly oily presence; nicely viscous and drinkable, well-roasted imperial stout. Nice. Lengthy finish: roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and cocoa; oily, round finish with some pleasant viscosity.

Pours opaque black with a thick mocha head. Tons of cocoa in the aroma, a bit of sweet molasses, vanilla, coffee, and a little earthy breadiness. Flavor is quite sweet, with layers of chocolate, coffee, anise, vinous notes, and vanilla melding together. Nice traces of bitterness throughout compliment the smooth and somewhat sweet chocolate presence. Good stuff.

Bomber. Ribbon of opaque black pour to a building dark tan creamy head with lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Initial flavor of espresso and chocolate followed quickly by anise, vanilla, and a touch of faint smoke. Some caramel rounds out the taste and almost seems to bind the flavors together. Classic West Coast bitter note leads into a long, smooth and flavorful finish. Very silky and inviting texture. A really nice and well-crafted stout. Green Flash is no flash in the pan.
