Commercial Description:
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Aroma of rich coffee and dark chocolate, darkest brown, pours a slight toffee head. Flavour is a full roasted malt, dark chocolate too. Full bodied, bitter as hell. Fabulous! Thanks Torontoblue.

22oz bottle, courtesy of Ernest. Thanks! Pours a very dark, chocolate-brown color; medium tan head with solid, fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of roasted malts, oily dark chocolate, and bitter cocoa and minerals in the aroma; nicely dry and well-roasted. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy, oily dark chocolate and dried fruits, well-roasted coffee, and roasted / lightly charred malts upfront; average carbonation; very solid, slightly oily presence; nicely viscous and drinkable, well-roasted imperial stout. Nice. Lengthy finish: roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and cocoa; oily, round finish with some pleasant viscosity.

Pours opaque black with a thick mocha head. Tons of cocoa in the aroma, a bit of sweet molasses, vanilla, coffee, and a little earthy breadiness. Flavor is quite sweet, with layers of chocolate, coffee, anise, vinous notes, and vanilla melding together. Nice traces of bitterness throughout compliment the smooth and somewhat sweet chocolate presence. Good stuff.

Bomber. Ribbon of opaque black pour to a building dark tan creamy head with lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Initial flavor of espresso and chocolate followed quickly by anise, vanilla, and a touch of faint smoke. Some caramel rounds out the taste and almost seems to bind the flavors together. Classic West Coast bitter note leads into a long, smooth and flavorful finish. Very silky and inviting texture. A really nice and well-crafted stout. Green Flash is no flash in the pan.

Bomber courtesy of DarkElf. Pours an opaque black and a one finger tan head with decent lacing. Nose is roasted malt and dark chocolate for the most part with a touch of coffee in the background. Taste is burnt coffee, toasted malt and dry cocoa powder with a slightly sour alcohol finish. Medium creamy mouth feel. Decent stout. Thanks Stephen.

22oz. bottle. Nearly opaque brown black with a small light brown head. Sharp roast malt aroma, some alcohol and baking chocolate. Roast malt, dark alefruit, ruddy, ashen bitterness. Bitter chocolate and coffee notes. Tinge of sweetness in the finish, with lingering roasty character. Mouthfeel is a heavy medium, somewhat drying.

Molasses brown. Creamy, tightly packed cinnamon froth slowly disperses. Dried plums, chocolate mousse, cocoa-dusted pound cake, and airy phenols line the clean aroma. Vague whiff of peach, toffee, and roasted malt hulls. Soft carbonation caresses the palate. Fluffy assortment of cleanly extracted malt flavors immediately captivate the palate. Dazzling interplay between lustrous dried-plum acidity and a pillowy medley of chocolate. Well-masked alcohol lightly warms the gullet while cleansing the palate to reveal well-polished notes of roast, caramel, and vanilla-tinged wafery pale malt. Dab of cocoa enriches the dryish roasty bitterness as the pale malts exude briefly to provide counterpoint to the scant residual sweetness. Perceptible hop character never interferes with or detracts from the flavorsome malt core. Yeast enhances the body while evoking thoughts of chocolate taffy and salmiakki as it teams up with the vibrant but wonderfully composed fruitiness. Distant note of char stings the tip of the tongue, yet the beer is not remotely ashy or astringent. Finishes softly and somewhat slippery, with a snug limelike hop bitterness which effortlessly deflects the ensuing splash of fudge cake and black licorice. I would like to see some notes of espresso for added depth and to neutralize some of the candyish sweetness. No denying that this is a great stout, however. Very clean, and fat-bodied but quaffable. I wish more American brewers would incorporate English hops in this style more frequently.
