Mellow, coffee and chocolate malt aroma. The taste is rich and creamy, and quite drinkable, without the alcohol burn of some of the more rugged Imperial Stouts. Lots of thick sweet chocolate and crystal malt taste. Well balanced with the Target Hops. This is a top notch Stout, Double Stout or Imperial Stout. Hoptagon (145), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2008 22 oz. Bottle. Looks exactly as a good stout should, oily black with a robust tan head that laces nicely. Aroma shows hints of coffee and cocoa. Flavor is roasty with crystal and chocolate malt characters showing. Hops are grassy and lend a slightly bitter streak to the otherwise malty profile of this beer. Mouthfeel is excellent with a persistent and well balanced level of carbonation. The beer breaks down a bit at the end and leaves an ashy taste on the tongue. Overall a respectable slightly sweet stout. ¾ (5006), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Bomber, near black pour, nice dark brown espresso foam. Medium roast and medium to heavy grassiness (hops) in the nose (not fruity). Full body, rich mouthfeel. Green and dry hop leaves tasted alongside heavy roast, chocolate malt, very light yeast (lactic notes). Full and rich. Delicious interplay of non-fruity (bitter, dry) hops and a well-crafted, solid and rich body. RSRIZZO (1369), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 8, 2008 Aroma is a dry coffee like scent. Color is a solid black with good carbonation and a thin tight tan head. Taste is smooth and roasted. Starting with a full body it goes down easy with an almost creamy feel. Finish comes in with a sweet deeply roasted malt flavor that has some coffee notes and a little brunt taste that lends to a mild bitterness. After taste is sweet as the burnt flavor slowly fades. As with all Green Flash brews I have had this is an excellent brew and a stand out in its style. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA

Full-flavored beer with the taste of lingering roasty malts. One of the best stouts, not imperial, I’ve had. timfoolery (484), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2008 DTM and I picked this one up at Monument in Concord, CA. This was the second of the night to linger on the palate. It had a long flavor, but the smokey end brought out the alcohol and the taste broke down. Good coffee/chocolate flavors at the beginning though. timsilvia32 (447), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Brown head, long lasting, but no real lacing to speak of. Great aromas. Mocha coffee, burnt malts. Taste is the same strong coffee, slight mocha and a little bit bitter with alcohol in the finish. Very full body. Improves as it warms a little also. jrob21 (1278), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Medium brown head that disappears pretty quickly. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate flavors. Faint, underwhelming aroma with a little bit of cocoa in there. Smooth and creamy texture is really nice. The finish is a little bitter with a very faint alcohol tinge in there as well. Ok but not great up against some of the bigger offerings out there.
