Commercial Description:
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Brewed in the USA........Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo !!! Pours black in color with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark malts, raisins and mild coffee. Taste is also of chocolate, dark malts and dough. The mouthfeel is thin, bold, slight dry, and worth looking for. Overall, a pretty good Stout.

22oz bottle served in a stem glass. Very dark brown, nearly black, with a 1/2" of beige head. Strong smell of dark chocolate with some dark fruit and bread character as well. Taste was similar. Not picking up any roasted characteristics typical of a stout. Man this is one chocolatey beer. I was surprised that there was no hop character with this beer being from Green Flash and all. It reminded me a lot of a much dryer version of a doppelbock.

Aroma is toasted oats, unsweetned chocolate. A little earthy, dank. The appearance is very attractive, dark, dark brown, tan head, strong at first, and then quickly fading. The flavor is roasty up front, almost burnt, with some bitter chocolate coming in right after, folllowed by a milk cream flavor. Decent thick mouthfeel. The finish actually is competing sweetness (oddly, it is sweeter at the finish than any other time), and ashy roastyness. (I’m not sure those are actual words, but you know what I mean.) Decent and enjoyable, yet just short of true greatness.

660ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) - shared by sayravai - thanks!
Lovely sweet roasty toasty aroma, some buttery creaminess and a touch of coconut. Lovely smooth full palate. Great roasty taste - no astringency - so smooth. A touch of coffee. Thanks Seppo - beer of the evening!

22 oz bottle shared around while camping on Memorial Day. Pours out charcoal black with a solid tan head and some light lacing. Aroma is full of chocolate, roasted coffee and some dark fruit. Flavor is all a perfect mixture of coffee, chocolate and roasted malt, with a thick mouthfeel that leaves you craving more while filling you up at the same time. Fantastic beer.

Flaske: Kulsort med et lækert cremet skum. Ekstrem frugt i både duft og smag. Meget sød, ikke så brændt men bestemt mere en impy end en normal stout.
