CaptainCougar (4663), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle thanks to Bockyhorsey: Pours a nearly opaque black with dark mahogany edges and a spotty-lacing dark tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel and dark chocolate malts with a touch of coffee and smoke. Body starts with decent fullness and sweet dark caramel malts with a nice balance of raisins and plums before a smooth roasty finish. A pretty standard imperial stout. hopdog (4645), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 11, 2008 22oz bottle shared courtesy of Josh. Poured a dark,d ark brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roasty, lightly earthy, and coffee. Tastes of roastiness, bitter chocolate, coffee, and caramel. hopscotch (4574), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 24, 2008 Bottle… Thinkin’ ‘Bout Thirteen Hours O’ Drinkin’ (tew man wrecking crew)… Eases its way into the glass and then sits menacingly black with a mid-sized, creamy, well-tanned head. Good retention. The nose is of dark roast coffee and cocoa… two of life’s greater things. Medium to full-bodied with a 2%-milk mouthfeel and active carbonation. Burnt, bitter charcoal and unsweetened dark chocolate with a faded suggestion of smoke. The finish is all coffee grounds and dried, bitter cocoa.
