Dark tan persistent head. Nuts and cocoa aroma. Flavor is super dark roasted, almost a charcoal component, but it is good. Very nice overall.

Aug 28, 2008 Bottle, poured black into the glass with a nice tan head. Smell was chocolate covered malted milk balls. Yum. Taste was well rounded, rich and tasty. Big chocolate, oatmeal, molasses and a great smooth finish. Enough balancing hop to keep it drinkable. Good stuff.

Aug 26, 2008 Bottle at Bob’s Bar. This beer pours an oily black color with a medium thick tan head that diminishes slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Nice roasted coffee and malt aroma with a touch of cocoa. Rich and chewy body, with flavors of roasted coffee, malt and chocolate. Light hops and yeast notes at times too. The finish is roasty with a burnt malt aftertaste. Overall this is an enjoyable Double Stout.

Aug 24, 2008 22oz bottle-pours a rich brown head and dark brown color. Aroma is dark malt/oats-rich chocolate, slight earthy hops with some acidic. Taste is dark malt/oats-rich chocolate, earthy hops with some acidic balanced with some fruit. Occasional. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for sharing this.

Aug 23, 2008 22oz.bottle. Pours a nice mocha colored head, some lacing, rich dark brown, nose is of the usual coffee, chocolate, molasses, malt, tastes similar. Great silky mouth feel. Unfortunately the finishing taste is a little unbalanced and rather bitter. Too much boiling hops, or is it the "west coast" style??
