Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 11, 2008 Honestly, this has a pretty insipid yellow colour. Lightly fruitiy/estery on the nose and the malts are really husky. Kind of creamy/underfermented taste, a big no-no in this style. Light spice and ester but it’s too little too late...I really hated this.
chrisafari (75), Orange, California, USA Aug 20, 2008 Pours cloudy yellow with a billowy white head. Aroma is sweet yeast and spice. Flavor begins with banana and dry spice and finishes with a dry saltiness. Overall a nice Saison. JoeMcPhee (3671), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Aug 18, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man. Pale yellow beer with lots of suspended sediment. The aroma is lightly spicy with a touch of citrus and wheaty character. Lightly tart as well with some lingering breadiness. Pale wheat malt, not a whole lot of complexity to speak of... just a fairly simple wheaty spice, light clove and citrus. It’s pretty generic though... like many american saisons/Belgian ales. BREWMUSKCLES (751), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Aug 17, 2008 Updated: Aug 18, 2008RIPE WITH FRUIT OF GREEN APPLE and HONEY. sweet and refreshing it has a resoning aroma of light spice like clove and coriander. medium light body similar to champagne with enough beer sting to make it interesting. a lot of situations where this beer would go nicely. nice aroma that is light. demonstrative in the style Ughsmash (2958), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 6, 2008 On tap at Ritual Tavern. Poured hazy peachy-golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweet toasty lighter fruits and bready notes with mild peppery spice and a bit of sour presence. The flavor was rather sour overall with bready and pale malt sweetness at the core.. sour light fruits surrounded with touches of clove and cardamom.. OK. Medium-bodied and too sour on the palate with a dry, spicy finish. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 From tap at the brewery. Pours hazy yellow with a creamy white head. Wheaty and slight estery fruity aroma. Smooth wheaty flavour and mild spiced. Mild spiced and smooth finish. Nice and refreshing and not overly spiced nor estery.
