Commercial Description:
Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

Bottle shared by fly, I believe. Thank you!
Pours a rich golden to amber color with a light white head. Smell is rich, bold and malty with a strong sweetness and lemony characteristic. Taste is well hopped to balance the maltiness. Somewhat dry, at the same time, however. Interesting spiced character too. Not bad at all, and I can feel the style growing on me.

This dark golden ale poured with a modest beige head and a floral aroma. There is a nice balance of malt and hops that produces a flavor that is initially sweet but finishes slightly bitter.

Bottle. Cloudy orangey-yellow with a thin, white head. Nice yeasty aroma of baked goods, with hints of citrus fruits and sweet spices. Very sweet taste, of light hops and malt, and a bit of an alcohol bite. Very pleasant and tasty.

Bottle from Nugget in Davis, CA. Poured a hazy golden color and a smelled of fruits and spices. Malty sweetness combined with the perfect amount of hops makes this an outstanding brew.

22 oz bottle. Light golden brew. Slightly hazy with a thick white head. Aroma is lightly spicy with some notable noble floral hops. Lightly clovey and peppery with a kiss of light apricot. The yeast is nicely restrained which is good to see. Fairly rich lean malts, a bit of yeasty breadiness as well. I can’t say that it’s great but it is appropriately dry with a nice herbal hoppiness and a hint of banana and apricot as well as loads of bubblegum. As it warms a bit of mintiness picks up. It’s a pretty decent take on the style.

Bottle from Nugget in Davis. This beer really had the spirit of a Belgian brew, despite being from California. I’m continually impressed with Green Flash, and this is no exception. They took excellent care to limit the aftertaste on this brew, while preserving the malty, dark fruit taste of a classic Tripel.

Bomber into a Duvel glass. Cloudy amber/orange with an unfortunate quickly collapsing head. Aromas of banana, pear and melon above cookie-like malts--floral and bubblegum notes as well. Flavor was basically sweet bubblegum. Some caramelized sugar and tame citrus hops underneath, but the flavor was overall kind of dull, sweet and flabby. I couldn’t really pick up any spiciness or complexity I’d expect from a tripel.

A pretty golden, hazy pour with a creamy white head that disappeared quickly. Aroma is sweet and citrusy, with a hint of yeast and something else... I like the creamy texture, tastes of orange and citrus spritz with a yeast overtone. Yeast could also be a doughy taste. No hops in sight, enjoyable beer though.
