Commercial Description:
Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

24 oz. bottle. Light amber with big head that disapates quickly. Orange, tinge of fusel and bannana esters. Sweet toasted malt, smooth caramel with cloying and spicy finish. Medium mouthfeel. Could be better attenuated or less dextrousness.

Bubblegum, sugar and alcohol nose. Bready with a cloyinly sweet honey and candy sugar palate. Some acetyl alcohol and dms come thru at mid palate. Cloying and hot finish.

Bottle. Yuck - I had this about 6-7 months ago and remember hating it... tasted like a cheap malt liquor to me - maybe I need to give it another shot. But I know the balance was way off

Bottle from Country Club Liquors; nose of wheat, caramel, cloves and spices; lightly hazy pale copper with a good yellowish head; flavor of bananas, cloves, caramel, and breadiness. Pretty good tripel!

Bottle, at csbosox KC tasting 4/14. Bottle provided by csbosox, thanks Chris! Pour is cloudy straw yellow. Smallish off-white head. Taste is malt, yeast and hop in that order. There are also banana and clove in there as well. After taste sticks around just a touch too long for me.

Slightly cloudy, golden/amber appearance with a large, off white head and decent lacing. Yeasty, herbaceous aroma, lots of spicyness, with some floral hops in the background. Malty, yeasty taste, balanced by a nicely hopped, bitter (but smooth), spicy, dry, herbal range of flavors. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel with a long lasting, dry, mildly medicinal finish.

Pours a hazy yellow with lots of yeast floaters and a creamy, fluffy head. Aroma is clove spice, banana and lemon. Taste is the same, strong flavor though. For me, I think this is a damn good Abbey for being brewed in the United States. It should actually be considered a new style as there is no way these new beers can compete with their pedigreed uncles from across the pond. Still I liked this one, including the yeast floaters and all. Sampled from a 650ml bottle.
