Commercial Description:
Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

Burnt orange pour with some head that quickly disappears. Aroma of honey, candi sugar, some yeast and spice. Definitely some weird grain thing going on here with otherwise nice spicey, honey notes. Kind of a lingering juicy fruit finish. Not too sweet but almost too sweet, the hop bitterness isn’t really detectable. Alcohol isn’t either, though. Not the worst, but not the best trippel.

750 ml growler filled at Bellport Cold Beer and Soda and consumed the same day. Pours a hazy gold with an ever-so-slight tinting of olive oil green with a moderate linen white head that dissipated fairly quickly and left no lace. Aroma of yeast, spice and some husky grains. The flavor is again yeast, spice and husky grains along with just a bit of banana emerging towards the finish. The banana flavor lingers in the aftertaste. Mild-medium bitterness at the finish.

On tap at Tustin Brewing’s 13th Anniversary party, this spicy, fruity beer was pretty tasty.

Bomber. Deep gold body with a slightly off-white, fizzy head, mostly diminishing. The aroma of spicy with clove. Notes of husky grain and orange and just a hint of nail polish remover, something that shows up more in the taste. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter and avoids the tendency of many tripels to be over-the-top sweet, though it gets close and is too sweet for a tripel. There is nail polish remover taste in the finish that seems accentuated by alcohol/clove flavors. Medium body, velvety texture and lively carbonation. A fairly average tripel that fails to deliver distinct flavors.

Very nice hazy orange without much head to speak of. The smell is very, very good. nice fruits and some chocolate, all kinds of great aromas. The taste is nice and fruity, candied sugar and grapes. Not much alcohol showing up in this. I assume this beer is about two years old now considering they just celebrated their 5th anniversary. It has held up very well and I think I like it better than the fresh GF tripel I had some months back. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-11-2007 03:30:45

Bottle sample at the Green Flash/New Holland tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 7.23.09. Semi-cloudy orange color with a huge off-white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast that is light on the banana and pleasant. Also some sweet malt and hops in there. Sweet malt flavor with some alcohol, a bit of hop and some fruit. Pretty good for a style I typically don’t care for.

Pours a golden orange with a nice size white head. aroma is of yeast, fruits, and spices. flavor is similar with a clove, bread, and biscuit flavors also. also has some carmel malt in it. has a medium-full body and has a dry finish with a slight alchool presence. overall, a pretty good Tripel with more american flavors then the average Tripel and is rather drinkable for the style.

Golden orange with a white head. Flavor is yeast, fruit, and some spices. Typical of the Tripel style. Not bad, but I don’t really care for Tripels.
