Commercial Description:
Rich pale malt flavors provide a solid base for zesty Styrian Golding and Czech Saaz hopping. Trappist ale yeast contributes the fruity, spicy profile of classic, monk-brewed, Belgian ales. Our Trippel is luscious, fiery, golden brew and a contemporary rendition of traditional Belgian Trippel.

An orange beer with an orange head. The aroma is very hoppy and grassy, and also has notes of yeast. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of yeast and light notes of coriander. I is weird how hoppy the aroma is - both for the style and compared to the flavor.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Pours an almost clear amber golden with a tall, dense, white head. Aroma of yeast and fruit. Fairly full in body with very sweetish fruit notes, some alcohol and a very distinct yeasty accent. 290607

From 75 cL bottle. pours slight hazy orange, with a white head. Spiced aroma. Spiced/yeasty flavoured. Sweet and alcohol flavoured. Finish is strong spice.6-3-6-3-12=3.0

From tap at the brewery. Pours slight cloudy orange with a lacing white head. Mild spiced and caramel malty aroma. Spiced yet smooth caramel malty. A bit too spiced for my liking. Ends spiced and slight caramel malt flavour. Light estery yeasty note. Spiced lingering finish.6-3-6-3-12=3.0

(RBSG06, 22oz bottle) Medium off-white head atop clear amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, herbal. Taste is medium sweet, candi sugar, raisin, herbal. Medium-full body, lightly sticky. Seems strange for the style.

22oz bottle (Trippel Label - not the 3rd Anniversary Label). Poured a medium golden / amber color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of fruits, spices (kinda of peppery), citrus, and light yeast. For some reason Ham came to mind (maybe because I’m hungry - Damn, now I’m craving a Ham sandwich). Tastes of fruits, light spices, honey, and a little bready (what would a Ham sandwich be without bread). Not overly sweet (a problem I find with the majority of USA made Tripels). Alcohol content well hidden.

Clear straw, the nice lasting 1-inch foam displays gentle lacing. Not very aromatic for a Belgian. Herbs dominate the aroma profile, giving us menthos and parsley components that head in opposite directions. Bastardized hops advance leafy and floral suggestions, while the yeast takes more room as it warms, procuring doughy breadiness and banana esters. A slice of celery occasionally disturb fom the global balance. Rather sweet organisation, bread, citrus and banana being the leading components. Stronger hoppiness toward the finish, quite herbal and more vividly citrusy which seems a bit out of place. Okay attempt, but once again, a more attenuative yeast strain might have brought more authentic results. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation.
