Commercial Description:
This West Coast-Style India Pale Ale is extravagantly hopped, full flavored, medium bodied and copper colored. A menagerie of hops is combined throughout the brewing process to impart specific characteristics. Hops used include Simcoe for a unique fruitiness and grapefruit zest, Columbus for strong hop pungency, Centennial for pine and citrus notes, and Cascade for floral aroma.

Green Flash West Coast IPA is a light amber ale with lots of particles in it. It has a soft, foamy off-white head with excellent retention and lacing. It has a fresh, bright, pine-grapefruit aroma with a slightly sweet, resiny malt note. It has a fluffy medium body that’s quite flat. It almost seems like it’s off cask. The finish is dry and clean. It’s quite bitter with a strong flavor of grapefruit peel. There is a very slight touch of sweetness. This is pure Cascade action here. It’s an excellent beer that’s appropriately named.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Aroma is big; pine and grapefruit. Pours with an initial head of about an inch. Moderate lacing as I am drinking this one. Awesome hop flavor again with pine and grapefruit flavors. Hops may be too bitter for some but this is right up my alley. This is a killer IPA, one of the best I have ever had.

12 oz bottle courtesy of extras from hellbilly. Wonderful trade. Bottle pours a very nice dark amber, splotched with reddish notes and a moderate bright white bubbly head that settles to a small amount and laces, well hazed, but lively in the light. Aromas are signature West Coast style, heavy grapefruit citrus with bits of piney resin scattered throughout, lemon and florals mix with a discernable carmel malt sweetness providing the support. So far, so good. Initial is a medium bodied flavorful IPA, pushing some good bitterness up front. Grapefruit, lemon, florals, and pine linger towards the backend and in the aftertaste. The malt backbone is evident, but this bad boy emphasizes a hop display, pushing citrus and pine in a very nice harmony. Nice bitterness remains on the palate, hits well on the aftertaste, with carmel malts peaking through for balance now and again. A very well done IPA, fresh, and potent. Woot.

Pours amber body with a foamy white head. Pretty standard, yet pretty delicious IPA aroma to it (I have had so many IPAs that the aroma I ceased to describe as piny or fruity, but merely in a tautalogical way hehe). Overall, the beer is an intense IPA. It is hoppy in front and hoppy in back. It is intensely citrsuly fruity and rather bitter all around. Sweetness is there. Everything you want in an IPA is more or less in this beer in a pretty good measure.

Cloudy amber in appearance. Floral hops and a touch of marijuana (no joke!) for the aroma. This brew is really bitter with a touch of pine and mint thrown in. I can take some bitter beer but this is about at the limit of my tolerance. I found this to be barely drinkable.

Very bitter and crisp tasting. Huge grapefruit taste and aroma. Lasting bitter finish. Strong earthy malt backbone provides some initial sweetness but is later dominated by hops. Better than most imperial IPAs. Medium bodied and perfectly carbonated.
