Intensly hoppy but still balanced with the strength and flavour of citrus to create a sublime IPA. Tried on draught at Green Flash brewery in San Marcos and savoured in bottles bought back to the uk in suitcases. j12601 (1412), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Gently tanned white head of medium volume that falls slowly. Loads of pineapple citrus hops reminiscent of their imperial IPA. Medium bodied and crisp, with a touch of sweet malt. Long grapefruit and quinine bitter finish. I like their imperial a little more, but this is quite good. bierkoning (6112), La Tropica, Netherlands

Grapefruit, traubenzucker and grass in the aroma. Firm flowery grassy oily hopbitter flavor, getting strong towards the finish. Pineapple and mango. Long grassy earthy bitter aftertaste. 502Flavors (631), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Awesome amber pour with gentle haze and a huge white head that leaves great lace. Very serious hop profile that it gentle and fruity but also supremely biting and resinous. Medium to heavy bodied with high carbonation. Some malt to balance the hops out, but not nearly enough to let you forget that this is a serious IPA. DSG (1515), Tel Aviv, Israel

Hoppy piney aroma with some grapefruit. Verry bitter hoppy flavor with some resinous notes, pine and a bit of citrus. Medium-bodied, a bit oily. Good. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Perfectly clear deep amber/copper coloured body with strong ruby highlights and a thinnish white head. Aroma of very fresh grassy hops along with citrus notes, perfumy notes and even more hops! Medium-bodied; Strong hop bitterness up front fading to a good malt backbone then back to some citrusy type hops. The aftertaste shows a lot of the hops with a bit of the grassyness from above and a good bit of malt. Overall, a good IPA that isn’t overpowering that can be drunk in Winter OR Summer and really enjoyed. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 31-October-2006. joKing (8), New Zealand does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jan 15, 2009 West Coast IPA was dry.... bone dry.
I tried to drink the whole 6 pack in one night - but I could only manage 2 bottles before the bitterness dissolved my brain: hence the loss of drinking reflex. The pine aroma was so strong - that I woke up in a cold sweat thinking I was lost in the forest. I soon realised that it was actually the empty bottle on my bedside table. I had to dial 911 after I drank this beer. It took several assurances from the lady on the other end that my tongue would grow back. thefle (113), , New Jersey, USA
