Strong hop aroma, floral and spicy, a hidden maltiness carries it across. Heavy malt body, caramels and breadiness. Then a good bittering of spicy hops with a light citrus note. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2008 Updated: Feb 18, 2009Bottle from ucusty, thanks dude. Poured a clear copper color with a thick off-white head that stuck around nicely and left good lacing. Aroma of pungent floral hops with some earthy spiciness, some light citrus (grapefruit and orange peel), and a light caramel maltiness. Crisp, lightly sweet malt entry leads into a earthy, bitter hoppiness with some leafy character and a bit of citrus (orange peel and grapefruit) with a moderately bitter finish. Some astringency, but not too bad. Moderate carbonation, nice mouthfeel. Much better beer than I anticipated, thanks David. RaginCajun (284), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2008 Very solid IPA. Dark amber color with a small persisent head. Strong floral aroma. The hop profile on this beer is the best feature as you can taste several different styles of hop. The entire bitter palate is activated. The malt profile is nice as well, providing a nice balanced to the strong hopping. A great beer. msante79 (841), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA

Good carbonation and thich mouthfeel. Damn good west coast IPA. presario (3001), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2008 Sampled at Bevmo. Pours a thick, dark red/amber. Only a little lighter than their Hop Rod Red. Significant voluminous head. Aroma of very thick hops; made me expect a hop bomb. Taste was more subdued, but very resinous. The aftertaste had its own viscosity. Decent kind of IPA; very West Coast.
