| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 14, 2009 One of my favorite IPA. Great balance of hop flavor (citrus side) and honey-like malt sweetness that didn’t take away from the hop bite. On tap at Rattle n Hum. madmitch76 (645), , Essex, England

| 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Nov 13, 2009 One of my favorite beers. Clipper City’s Loose Cannon is my standby but only because it’s about 20% cheaper. I try to keep both on hand.
The only beer I’ve had with a stronger hop aroma is Russian River Pliny the Elder. The Simcoe, Columbus, Centennial, Cascade, and Amarillo hops give a very complex aroma but over time it’s possible to pick each out. The hops are complemented by an excellent maltiness. The first few times I had the beer I was overwhelmed by the hops but lately it seems the maltiness is really shining through. yumyum (124), barrie, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 9, 2009 A very nice ipa. It has pours a very nice deep amber colour. It has a big nose of hops of course. This ipa has a really nice complexity for the style. You can really taste multiple flavours. It is one of my favourite (allthough I still give the df60 top billing) It’s hoppiness puts df60 to shame but in terms of drinkability the edge goes to df60. Overall a great ipa great floral aroma with mild citrus, citrus and pine in the flavour. Decent mouthfeel, are left with a slight hop bite at the finish ROGUE (705), Newark, Delaware, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 7, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a clear deep copper color that is topped by a frothy light tan colored head. Aroma is full of piney hops and citrus. Taste was all hops, citrus up front followed by a dry piney finish. A nice hoppy session IPA. williamherbert (475), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Big chunky copper-orange color. Bits floating as if suspended in amber. Big old fluffy head. Sooo much sediment. Icy lace.
Nose is full of those oily west coast hops. Citrusy and flowery, hints of grapefruit, sweet pine needles. Breathtaking. Light bready malt prevents a classic overhop. Just an amazing aroma.
Major bitter woody hops, leaving a stinging aftertaste at the swallow. Less balanced than the smell; the hops rule. Very pungent, Imperial IPA flavor. I wish it had a bit more balance, but it does have superior hop flavor.
Leaves that hefty double IPA film on the tongue. Thick and chewy. It’s supremely bitter, maybe be too harsh for immediate repeats. But a top shelf Imperial(ish) IPA. TheGrandMaster (1874), Auckland, New Zealand
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 5, 2009 Bottle (in NZ), pours a hazy orange amber with a yellowish head. Big piney hopped nose, with citrus notes and a touch of bubblegum and caramel - just beautiful. A massive bitter palate, that just keeps on getting more and more bitter. Soem biscuity malt sneaks through, but it is mostly grapefruit flavours that sap the taste buds. A huge beer - I’m expecting I’ll still be tasting it tomorrow. jstraw (776), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 2, 2009 Golden amber with big, foamy beige head / Citrus, pine, bread, and brown sugar nose / Light to medium body, a little watery, with good balance and biting, bitter finish / Flavors of pine, orange, grapefruit, and bubblegum / Surprisingly weak body in this otherwise steller ipa.
