Hop bomb! This ale reeks hops from the pour forward. Beautiful copper color, with a solid head, and above average retention.
Nose is ripe with the essence of sticky, fresh picked hops. The hops come through with guns blazing, but the finish is well balanced with the necessary malt to add depth. Pretty near to the perfect IPA.
My only disappointment with this effort is the price, @ $12.99/6pack in my area.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2008 On tap. Light pine aroma. Very hoppy, piney flavor, slightly astringent, in a good way. A touch a malt, but a very strongly bitter beer in the West Coast "tradition". Not a big fan of this style, but worked for me. dkoonce (899), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark amber, with a thick, creamy off-white head. Strong, resiny pine aroma. Incredible hop bite. This is one of the bitterest beers I’ve ever had. The hops overshadow any malt tones in this beer. As much as I love hops, this beer to too much about the hops and not a balanced beer. NoiZe (1382), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

Orange, copper colored brew. Nice floral, citric, sweet aroma. Nice smooth, hoppy IPA. Very nice bitterness. hombrepalo (780), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Taste: 8/8 Bottle. Looks: Gold/copper, nice creamy clinging foam. Aroma: Blended hops/pine,floral,citrus. Sweet caramel malt.Taste: Nice and bold, complex hops, good malt body. Mouthfeel and finish are smooth. I like a tad more malt, but you start heading into double IPA with this abv. doppelmeup (51), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2008 As stated, a very fresh, hoppy aroma. I felt it was a little bit one dimensional and could have used a bit more maltiness to better balance out the brew.
But no doubt a hop lover’s dream. CamdenD (625), Madrid, Spain
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2008 Good hop bitterness and strength all the way through. Balanced and heavy. True to its name, this beer stands up quite well to others’ IPAs in the region.
