Body is pretty full, not too sweet, but not thin or watery. Pretty complex hop character. Bitterness was a bit overpowering I thought, slight soapy-ness as well. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Surely a classic. A nice amber body with a nice white head that had great lacing and perfect retention. Aroma was rich with pine notes and some soapy notes. Flavor was rich with hops but had a great malty quality to it, mostly citrus but some sweetness to it.. Finish was smooth and the palate was full. Indulgence (141), Ajo, Arizona, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Nice strong and clean aromas of grapefruit, pine and forest and some subtle caramel malt. Large head and remains sudsy till the end with lots of traces of lacing, dark cloudy amber color body, strong flavors of the same as the aromas, not too extreme as some sweetened malts restrain the bitterness, finish is bitter and somewhat extreme but refined. Good Brew, will drink again. Grovlam (3825), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2008 Bottle. Large fin bubbled white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Somewhat cloudy amber color. Aroma of pine needle, grapefruit, citrus, oily chewy hoppy feel. Nice underlying fruity and mild malty notes with a hint of caramel. Medium to almost full body with an average carbonation and dry texture. Moderated bitter flavor with good counter sweetness. Dry bitter lingering finish. Very well brewed IPA. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Poured from a bottle a clear amber color with a nice fluffy white head. The pine and floral smell really came through in the aroma, just setting the table for what was to come. The beer had an intense hop flavor, but it didn’t overwhelm the senses and go too far over the top. Maddog (250), Kettering, Ohio, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Aug 1, 2008 6 pack from Belmont Party Supply. This is a truly special IPA, and I judge IPA’s harshly. This beer is upfront hops at its finest. A rare combination of citrus and piney hops, this beer’s flavor also contains some malty sweetness as well. Any homebrewer knows that Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial and Cascade hops is an All Star Team. At $14.99 this IPA is quite expensive, but it has the qualities of many Imperials. What an incredible finish, sour, bitter and pungent. stchloe (491), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Draught. Strong hop aroma, grapefruit and pine. Pours a clear amber with a thin head. Flavor is poorly balanced, mostly a strong hop bitterness with very little depth. This is what happens when you throw all your hops in at the beginning of your boil. This isn’t even a hop-bomb, it’s an IBU bomb, and that just makes for a harsh undrinkable overrated mess of a beer.
