Bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma of rich malt, dark chocolate and hops. The flavour is malt, chocolate and molasses. Low bitterness. Dry finish. Rather forgettable.

Pours a dark brown with golden highlights. Small, short-lived brown head. Rich aroma of chocolate, roast, and a little caramel. Flavour is toned-down compared to the aroma, but there is the expected chocolate, along with some molasses and roast. Lighter mouthfeel in keeping with the style. Nice.

Slightly metallic aroma... But otherwise, dark chocolate and roasted malt. Slight hops in the nose with notes of licorice and coffee. Burnt malt flavours, some bitterness from the hops. Burnt malt dominates, but there are hints of whiskey and oak. Quite watery on the palate. Finishes dry with a cocoa flavour. Probably better at room temperature.

clear, dark brown with not much head to speak about- possible low carbonation? A bit too vegetable like on the finish for me, ok but much better out there

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, dark brown with a small, beige head. Lightly burned malt aroma. The body is fairly light with burned caramel accents and some dark malts. There’s a light sweetness lingering underneath. The finish is dry though. Very pleasant. 270108

Bottle, poured a dark brown with a large tan creamy head. Some chocolate coems through in the malty aroma, but also accompanied by a sourness. The palate is grainy, becoming thin and watery in the finish. The malt is quite flavourless. As a lover of Mild, I don’t love this one.

Batch 24 tasted 2006. Dark reddish brown. No aroma very faint head brief head. Moderately sweet, malty but rather bland & no descript but nothing really going for it.

Found in Queenstown, New Zealand. Bought it b/c it looked like a pretty obscure microbrew - and it IS! Not as dry as the Moa Noir. Not very fizzy, thankfully. Hint of sweetness in the aftertaste. Nicely done. Medium body.
