Papsoe (10459), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 7, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Clear, dark brown with a small, beige head. Lightly burned malt aroma. The body is fairly light with burned caramel accents and some dark malts. There’s a light sweetness lingering underneath. The finish is dry though. Very pleasant. 270108 TheGrandMaster (1490), Auckland, New Zealand Jan 13, 2008 Bottle, poured a dark brown with a large tan creamy head. Some chocolate coems through in the malty aroma, but also accompanied by a sourness. The palate is grainy, becoming thin and watery in the finish. The malt is quite flavourless. As a lover of Mild, I don’t love this one. bozoNZ (370), Christchurch, New Zealand Dec 25, 2007 Batch 24 tasted 2006. Dark reddish brown. No aroma very faint head brief head. Moderately sweet, malty but rather bland & no descript but nothing really going for it. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Dec 12, 2007 Found in Queenstown, New Zealand. Bought it b/c it looked like a pretty obscure microbrew - and it IS! Not as dry as the Moa Noir. Not very fizzy, thankfully. Hint of sweetness in the aftertaste. Nicely done. Medium body. jimthechap (122), Christchurch, New Zealand Jan 4, 2007 I really wanted to like this beer but this confirmed my suspicion of organic products. You don’t come across mild beers in NZ too often and this one put off most of my customers from trying more. Beautiful colour but just about impossible to get a head on it if you are pouring off tap. It lost points on flavour, which is why we drink beer. Just nothing to really remember it by. Sad really.
