The aroma has notes of malt, straw, and roasted malt. The flavor is very sweet with notes of roastd malt as well as light ntoes of prunes and wood towards the finish. Simple and a bit too sweet for my liking. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. BeerChaser0078 (370), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours nearly jet black with a tan head that doesn’t last long. Aroma is fairly straightforward roasted malt with hints of dark chocolate, seaweed and a little saltiness. Flavour is much the same but with a bit of yeastiness and a hint of black coffee. Nice and easy to drink but doesn’t really stand out in any way. Enjoyit (1746), Vadum, Denmark

A malty aroma with coffee notes, dark chocolate and a hint of plum. It has quite a crisp, clean flavour with dark chocolate, raisin, plum, prune, a strong cherry character and a bitter coffee finish. The only hint of the 7% ABV comes in the aftertaste, accompany a lovely dark fruit flavour. Incredibly balanced and smooth, an incredibly enjoyable beer. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Pours a near-black with a slow-to-rise thin brown head that quickly vanishes. Interesting aromas of creamy chocolate, dark fruits, and slightly vegetal coffee bean. Nicely roasty palate with added flavours of chocolate and weak coffee, slightly briny. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin given the ABV and style, and this isn’t helped by the robust carbonation. Aside from the disappointing body, this is a nice stout. Finish is dry and bitter. gam (1116), brisbane, Australia

Gorgeous flavours, a nice bitterness of a black coffee. Some hops give it a slight twist, like raisin.
Rich flavours of roasted malt, creamy coffee and cocoa.
A smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Awesome stout. donfardz64 (427), Wellington, New Zealand
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2009 330mL bottle from the brewery. Pours very black. Brown fluffy head, which dissipates to a thin layer. Little carbonation, minimal lacing. Bready nose, yeast and roasted malt. Silky mouthfeel. A strong roasted malt base to this one, bringing strong coffee flavour. Strong bitterness like an espresso. Very robust. Finish is long and bitter. Very nice stout, and at 7% ABV makes you feel quite happy quite quickly.
